They are my Noble Masters

Last of the Winter Anime shows that I've finished but haven 't gotten around to reviewing. Another short series but atleast one with an ending that was reasonable. Also another anime that was hard to find good G rated images for for this blog.

Short Summary: Two siblings run from their abusive father to a new town and a new life. Poor and jobless they look for jobs, Ren and his sister in short order find their way into the butler and maid service of the Kuonji family and their other servents. Many adventures ensue from there.

My opinion: I wasn't sure about this show when I checked out the first episode but after watching the Col. drift that Lincoln limo in a race I was sold. As this show was based on an eroge game/novels fanservice was expected and it didn't disapoint. I didn't really care for the sibling incest innuendo both between Ren and his sister (who may not really be his real sister anyways) and between the three sisters especially between Shinra the oldest daughter (and head of the household) and Miya the middle sister (and the smart loli character complete with robot buddy). The youngest sister Yumi gets pretty well ignored though out most of the season.

Beyond the sibling groping and other assorted Fanservice cliches (hell one of the support cast is a nempho lusty schoolgirl who just screams fanservice) you get a pretty decent little anime show that has a decent plot. There are laughs to be had most at the expense of poor Ren and his poor butler skills and misfourtune of being at the wrong place at the wrong time. Another laughable cast member is the other boy butler who is either always getting lost or just forgotten. Towards the end it gets a bit more serious and we get to see the final battle for freedom and independence between Ren and his father. It was also a good way to show the importance of family (even if you are sexually harrassing them!) and how everyone should get a second chance to succed at something. Even with all the sexual innuendo and fanservice it was a good show but definitely not for the younger crowd or those not interested in fanservice, but I'll still give it two thumbs up. When (if?) it makes it here to the US I'll definitely be checking this out on Netflix as I've seen a couple screen shots from the DVD release and it looks nice. Then I'll wait for it to be released as a budget priced collection and then snag it then.
