Your sci-fi looking future gun is here...sorta. One thing the FS2000 has going for it with the attached enclosed sight system is that it does look very futuristic but you can have it today. There is some definitely cool bits about the FS2000 which is the civilian version of the select-fire F2000 and the only difference between the two is the select-fire ability and a slight change in the barrel. The cool thing about the FS2000, besides being a pullpup which really isn't anything new, the FS2000 incorparted a new forward ejection system which spits out spent shell casings infront of the weapon. Pretty bad ass design that allows the weapon to be a truly ambidextrous firing weapon.

So forward ejecting brass a bullpup layout for size, comfort and ergonomics fires Standard 5.56X45mm rounds for light recoil and the ability to use standard AR mags really does make for a pretty good battle rifle. It's a bit spendy though at around $2200 for the one that is currently at the local Impact Guns store here.

I personally haven't fired one yet but I've manhandled a couple at the gun store and like the feel and design of the rifle a lot. I wouldn't mind trying one out though to see how much a difference the bullpup design really makes. It's yet another FN firearm that is on my want list. I do know one guy who has owned one when they first became available and while he liked it one of his biggest grips about it when it jammed it was the biggest pain in the ass to clear because of the forward ejection system. I believe that was an issue when it first came out but FN if I remember correctly fixed the issue.

In any case here is a video of an FS2000 shooting so that you can see the way the forward ejection system works.
