Welcome to the first ever Shooter Saturday posting featuring non other than the very awesome Kriss Super V (Vector). If you've played any Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 you might have run around with one for a while or even used it in multi-player action. I first heard of it several years ago in it's prototype days and am glad to see that it's finally been released and has even been voted as the best CQB weapon by the military channel's Ultimate Weapon show. Now that's saying something.

The Vector, as it's also known, is a unique take on the SMG/CQB weapon system which is usually classified as a shoulder fired short barreled weapon that fires pistol caliber ammo. In this case the Vector is only chambered in .45 and .40 caliber (coming soon) versions. What makes the Super V so unique is it's action blow-back feature. I don't really want to get all technical about action types but instead of having the action move rearwards into the shooters shoulder creating felt recoil and muzzle rise like every other type of automatic fired weapon the Super V's action moves down and away from the shooter reducing felt recoil and muzzle rise. This is a very good thing for the shooter allowing them to rapidly place rounds on target accurately. It also reduces the overall length of the firearm as well.

Another unique feature of the Super V is the separate selector switches for safe-mode and fire-mode. This is actually a great way to simplify things for the shooter when you think about it. You can leave your fire-mode selected at all times so you don't accidentally in the heat of the moment select the wrong fire-mode while still being able to engage the safety at any time.

Now before you think oh man that's awesome but I can't get that...well actually you can so long as you meet all the requirements and rules since yes there is a civi model available to purchase mind you it does come with a 16 inch barrel (wrapped nicely in a fake suppressor dressing) however if you do want to take up the challenge it's not exactly hard to get a permit for the SBR version as well. Because yes they do offer a semi-auto version of the SBR.

Not only has the Kriss Super V been on TV getting awards or in Video games killing the bad guys but it has shown up in other areas as well including the cover model of the January 2010 issue of Guns & Weapons for Law Enforcement and there is a really good article in there about the different versions of the gun and the reviewer really did like the gun.

If I was going to pick up a CQB weapon this would be a nice choice and with a SRP of around $1500-$2500 (depending on Options) it fits right in there with just about anything else so something interesting like this isn't going to break the bank so to speak. I'd really like to get my hands on one to try it out but it'll be some time before I probably see one in the flesh.
