Seattle Trip Day 2

Day two starts off with a trip to the Experience Music Project and surrounding area. We ended up parking a good mile or two away because well we didn't think much about how far we were and I was like hey look there's a good spot to park. So we ended up walking (uphill of course) a good while to the area at the base of the Space Needle. Of course what we didn't know at the time is that the free pass that we were given had expired and we didn't feel like spending $15 to go to the Experience Music Project and Science Fiction Museum so we decided to take the Monorail to downtown Seattle and go look around Pike Place Market for a little bit. We decided to look around at the nick knack stores downstairs and while the Comic store is cool with a lot of stuff to offer including old Vintage Star Wars figures the new stuff was way overpriced but that's what you get in a tourist trap. We killed enough time there to head back to the car at that point to meet up with some people to actually do what we were in Seattle for in the first place. Another set of rims for the RX-8 to be used for autox. So another trip on the monorail a bit more walking (downhill thankfully) a short stop at the must eat at Dick's burger joint and we were off on another adventure. This time we didn't get lost and we got the rims without any hassle.

So now we only had two things left for the day. The International district and the Mariners game. Since the Mariners game didn't start until 7pm we had from about 3pm tell then to wander around the International district. And wander we did. Found a good parking spot close to the international District and a good location for Safeco field as well. Of course the first place we hit up in the International District was the huge Uwajimaya store which is the biggest Asian food place that I've ever seen and of course we hit up the Sake/beer aisle and what an aisle it is. After looking at that for a bit we decided we needed to come back to that a bit later and headed over to the built in Bookstore that is also located there called Kinokuniya. I was able to pick up another Nendoroid Petit figure (second time around got another bit player Tsuruya) and while I looked for the High School of the Dead manga I couldn't find it so picked up a couple different magazines. What I thought was a music related magazine because it had the super hottie Leah Dizon on the cover a car magazine and an anime related magazine where I got my last lil' figure of the trip from. Now loaded down with more figures and magazines and a much emptier wallet we headed back to the Sake and beer aisle were I grabbed some Japanese beer and my roommate grabbed some Sake.

That all went back to the car and we wandering around the area looking for other stores to explore and found another anime toy store along with a used Video Game store I can't recall the name of either one but they were interesting but since I had spent all my money (save for a couple dollars) I wasn't getting anything else. While on our walk about now looking for food we passed a sweet looking Honda S2000 that was nicely tuned. We ended up passing by it again but noticed there were a bunch of cop cars around that block and saw they guys who were with the S2000 were getting arrested. Interesting we also got a nice slice of life of the daily Seattle war on gangs. Passing by that we ended up going to a restaurant called Kau Kau BBQ and Seafood and by far had the best dang Chinese food of our lives. It was good food, friendly atmosphere and great service. Definitely check that place out if you find your self in the area.

With our tummies full we headed off for the game. Picked up our tickets and headed in. I grabbed a program for my grandma as she's a big fan of Ichiro. We found our seats and sat back to enjoy the baseball game. This was my first ball game and I have to say in person it's a bit more fun to watch but I still don't care for it really. One of the best things about the game though was all the nice eye candy that was walking around. Oh my goodness there was a lot of hot looking Asian girls all over the place from Pike Place Market the ID and even at the game. If you have an Asian fetish and don't want to travel overseas go to Seattle (and no we didn't go to the airport to take pictures of the Korean Air Flight attendants nor any of the other eye candy either). What was really nice but rather pervy were the two cute JB girls who were trying like crazy to get on the jumbotron by dancing around in very very tight jeans. JUST DAMN! It was hard not to watch them jump around. Anyways the game ended and we walked back to the car and headed back to the house tired happy and not looking forward to the trip home. Of course you would think at this point that we would have a pretty good idea of where we were and how to get back to the uncle's house.

Of course you would be wrong. Yup we got lost driving home yet again. Thankfully this time we had a map, although Seattle roads don't make it easy to read fine print on a map, so we did manage to get to where we needed to go and made it to bed worn out tired and sore.
