What a week. Summer is definitely here in a big way and it was once again a rather busy weekend. Like I mentioned last week my mom was admitted to the hospital for the week for more tests and what have you for her brain cancer. I was able to visit her a couple times and she definitely seems to be hanging in there taking it all in stride and keeping for the most part high spirits about the whole thing. She is still in the hospital so I'll be visiting her this week too. My sister even though I love her is still very annoying but thankfully is helping out a lot at home and I wish I could help more with that but I just can't. But enough of that.
This week was a holiday week with Independence day falling on a Friday of this year so I was able to enjoy the festivities this year for a change instead of having to yell at dumb teenagers who think it's cool and OK to set off fireworks next to the hotel late at night when other people are trying to sleep. Anyways my friends and I drove around setting off Ariel motors (illegal fireworks FTMFW) for a while and just hung out having fun. It was a nice July 4th.
The weekend was pretty busy and a lot of fun. Saturday I checked out the North West Motor Fest, Idaho's largest car show followed up with an Autocross event on Sunday. Like most Idaho car shows it was mostly muscle and classic cars in attendance. Some interesting things here and there but nothing that just made my jaw drop. One of the interesting things going on at the car show was a whole shot drag race (all of a hundred feet) and burnout challenge. It was pretty fun to watch those two lil' events. Sunday's autocross event was a smaller gathering than most other times. A few new cars showed up thanks to the car show (the scca had a both at the show) and even better my roommate brought out his Turbocharged Mazda RX-8 for the first time ever. He did spin it once like most people thought he would (including himself) but from what I saw it looked pretty fun and that's what really matters. Well that a good time. Well more on both of those two events later. Watch for new youtube videos and pictures posted to Flickr. Just so you know I spotted the lil' Moe RQ figure mounted on one of the 350Z's that were out Autocrossing on Sunday. I also spotted Pedobear as well. Both were good laughs.
So that's it for another busy and HOT week here so until next week. You all take care. Hopefully I don't get burned out on pictures and video of the autocross event like I did last time.
