I traveled for the first time this last weekend by plane from Boise to Reno for my friends wedding. Why has it taken me some 31 years and two months to board a plane and fly somewhere? Well I just never needed to before now. I didn't want to drive all the way to Reno and it would have been a little bit more money to drive anyways.
I booked my flight early and got an OK deal but I ended up with a flight that took me from Boise @ 6am in the morning to Las Angels and their crappy ass air quality thanks to the fires. I did get to see the Pacific Ocean for a little bit and some large container ships underway and a little bit of the city once we broke though the smog and smoke. From there it was onto Reno and one hell of a bumpy flight once we approached Reno. I can see why some people don't like flying as with this being my first time flying I was stuck on a small and very cramped puddle jumper Turbo prop tin can where you could feel every bump in the flight. I didn't get sick though. But those little tiny A/C vents don't do much for a stifling hot airplane. For the first part of my overall flights for the weekend it was pretty easy breezed though security didn't have a lot of waiting in LA some nice eye candy to look at just not the flight attendants though.
The return trip took me from Reno to Seattle back to Boise. The flight from Reno to Seattle was uneventful and I was prepared for the cramped quarters. What I wasn't expecting was the freaking long ass wait for some lady in a wheelchair that made the boarding of the plane take an extra 30 minutes. Because unlike half the other people I was actually following instructions and waiting for my turn to board and be seated. The flight out was pretty easy at least and it didn't take so long to get to Seattle.
Seattle was a two hour layover and a long wait but it was a nice wait. When I first got off I ran into a gaggle (at least 15 of them) of cute Korean Air Flight Attendants (all wearing the creme colored skirt and light blue blouse). Not a one of them was a butter face either. They were all cute as can be and were heading in the other direction. I left all my camera gear and my cell was dead other wise I would have taken pictures. Anyways I just about turned around and followed them to where ever they were going and find out what hotel they were going to stay at (they were leaving the airport so I can't think of any thing else they would have been doing) and see if they needed a new night auditor or something. But home was calling and so was a hungry tummy. I grabbed some grub (you have a lot to choose from @ Seattle compared to Boise or Reno) and people watched while waiting for my last flight to take me home. Thankfully the last flight was the shortest and easiest and I was home in what seemed like no time at all. While flying over Boise we passed by where I work and I could see my car patiently waiting for me to get home.
So that's one less thing to cross off my list of things I haven't done yet. I just need to figure out how, that if I fly somewhere again, I can get a flight on a Korean Air jet or end up in Seattle again to ogle the lovely ladies of Korean Air. But for my first time flying it wasn't bad, didn't have any problems with flying or the security (no internal cavity searches FTW) and over all had an OK time. Now I'm going to go search want adds for Seattle airport hotel night auditor jobs....
