Ok so I've been a bit slack on getting something posted about the autocross from two weekends ago during the Northwest Motorfest which was held on the July 4th weekend. I got all of the videos uploaded to youtube and this had more single car per video action than previous autocross because the track was pretty long so there was usually two cars out on track at the same time which made it harder to film than usual.
This was the first outing for my roommate's newly rebuilt Turbocharged Mazda RX-8 and I believe he was still only running about 5#'s of boost for this first one. It definitely goes that is for sure. He did pretty good the first time out but the second time out say him spin out after the first slalom section. The third and fourth run were pretty good from what I could tell a few cones were hit. No records were set but hey it was out there for the first time so that was pretty good.
This was also my first time trying panning while taking pictures to get that high speed motorsports feel to them some work some did still working through them to see which ones I'm going to add to flickr for all of you to see. http://www.flickr.com/photos/44902111@N00/sets/72157606019669912/
Because it was held during the Northwest Motorfest there were some new people out racing but it was still a pretty small turnout compared to previous outings. One of the more notable additions was another Factory Five Cobra which I mistook for a real AC Cobra when I overheard others talking about it being the real deal. Anyways it was pretty funny watching it because the driver side door would like open up when he was going around corners.
