On the Fourth of July weekend Idaho's largest car show/event came to town. Not only is it the largest outdoor car show in Idaho but there are several interesting car related events going on at the same time. On Saturday they had shiftercart action along with several Whole Shot Challenges and burnout compatetions. While I didn't see it I do believe there was some rock crawling activity going on as well. Sunday was more of the same but instead of the shiftercarts there was a full day SCCA autocross event going on. More on that later.
My roommate was scheduled to work at the SCCA booth on Saturday afternoon but before he did that we and another friend tagged along to look at the cars and check out one of the whole shot events and burnout competion. There was definitely something for everyone to see and while it was mostly muscle car heaven I did see a few things that I reall liked. Of course there was also the stuff to point and laugh at as well which adds just a little bit of fun to the whole thing. Of course I took the camera and snapped pictures a plenty but sadily not a single Porsche that I could find so my day just wasn't complete like it was after the last car show. Even though there wasn't any Porsches there were a handful of cars that I liked. I enjoyed looking at a nice example of the E30 BMW M3 along with a few other BMW and Mercedes offerings. There was a slew of way old school stuff from the Model T group. After walking around looking at everything that was to offer we headed over to watch the Whole Shot Event and Burnout Competition. The Whole Shot event is pretty much a lil' short drag strip on the fairgrounds that uses a standerd stop light as the timing gate and the winner is the first one to cross the finish line at
