I forgot that I received Aika R-16 Virgin Mission from Netflix before I left for Reno. Watched it the day before while I was packing and getting everything ready. The best way to sum up this three episode OVA prequel to the original Agent Aika anime and that is; HELLO PANTIES! These three episodes have more pantie shots per minute (perhaps even second) than anything else that I've ever seen before. Those poor girls never did learn how to fall with some dignity and of course to close their damn legs instead of splaying out like they are the nearest rendition to the Picasso painting of man.
Brief Summary: So this three episode OVA focuses on the early beginning years of budding salvager Aika before she becomes I don't know what because I haven't actually watched the first Agent Aika anime yet. She joins up with her high school rival to look for some missing treasure that was discovered in a butterfly tattoo on another fellow student's body. A whole gaggle of teenage girls board a ship along with their lovely teacher to search for the treasure. Apparently the teacher has other plans in store for the girls and tries to kidnap the tattooed student for her own reasons. Lots of pantie shots latter and Aika is able to stop the teacher in her tracks and the girls are able to go on with their mission. Aika her rival classmate and the tattooed girl end up in an underwater lab where they discover more girls who look exactly like the tattooed girl. Blah blah blah more pantie shots and fin the girls pretty much find the place meet the other girls and leave and go back home to have other adventures.
My Opinion: This was over the top fanservice and ecchi goodness. Lots of pantie shots and very little main plot or driving force behind the OVA series. You could probably mute the show and enjoy it just as much. It's fun mindless fanservice anime that does very much hits the nail on the head with what it is. It's definitely not for everyone and it's definitely not for kids or the week of mind. I enjoyed watching it and laughing at some of the funnier parts and you know if your feeling a bit raunchy it's a pretty good show to watch. For the price you might as well just buy the thing but if your not sure you could just do what I did and rent it from Netflix and not feel guilty about owning a title like this. The only problem is finding a family friendly picture to use with this blog. Now I'm just awaiting for Netflix to ship Agent Aika but that might take some time.
