Holy hell what a week. Work got turned on it's head and shit is all sorts of FUBAR'D. Then it was the weekend and that was awesome fun and oh so freaking long. Which is why things are really out of whack on the blogs and everything because soon after getting home from work on Friday morning my internet ability was limited to a quick couple minutes here and there. So I was able to read e-mails check Facebook and that's about it. Heck I don't even know how the 4th round of the Super GT went or even had a chance to check out any new Race Queen stuff.
So work....oh dear. Well we got a new management company running things which means the old manager was let go. That sucks as I thought she was doing a really good job. Now we have some temp dude who's I don't know anything about. They screwed up my paycheck and as far as I know will not be doing any other paychecks until the 20th of August. FFFFUUUUUUU!!!! Yeah so until then I have all of $400 because I was missing 4 days on my last paycheck. And there is other stuff as well and taking off this last weekend didn't help any of them at all either.
So I left the work mess behind me on Friday morning for a little adventure up to Hailey, Sun Valley and Stanley, ID. First stop was Hailey to chill out at the roommate's parents' house to do a little photoshot with the roommate's Mazda RX8 and his Dad's 65 Mustang convertible. You can check out the flickr set here -- RX8 and Mustang.
Saturday morning was a trip up to Sun Valley to watch some fast and not so fast cars run flat out for three miles at the Sun Valley Road Rally. It was a blast as there were a couple Porsche 911 GT2s a GT2RS and a GMG tuned WC-GT2 not to mention the pair of Porsche driven Panamera Turbos. I'll have a blog up about all of that in a couple days as I still need to upload the videos. It was a blast watching that event though.
After that the roommate and I took a little drive in a couple Porsche cars as well as the Porsche dealer was having an event called Zero to Anywhere Street Drive during the same weekend as well. The roommate took a Cayman R out and I got the keys to another 911. This time a silver C4S Cabriolet. And since there were two drivers per car I was able to get on the 911 a little bit more than I did when I first did a Porsche driving event last year. I'll blog about that on the car blog a little bit later as well.
From there it was another drive up to Stanley, ID for a night at a cabin. Which was better than I though since I'm totally not an outdoorsy cabin friendly person. I like cities but the cabin was fun. Watching a massive thunder and lightening storm roll over the mountains was pretty amazing. I have to admit the quietness and lack of the internet wasn't half bad and an interesting way to unwind from the automotive overload of the day before. Sunday went up to Red Fish Lake and checked that out as well as the hatchery and looked at fishes and stuff. You can check out some pictures I took of the adventures to Stanley on this flickr set -- Stanley.
All that time outside and thankfully didn't get eaten alive by bugs (or bears oh my) or sunburned even though I thought I might have at one point. Heck I don't even remember if I watched any cool videos this week that I should share so I should go look.
OK maybe there was.
