What a week.  No really it's been a crazy week both here and around the world. While my week wasn't bad I was definitely glued to the news as one of the largest natural disasters hit Japan over the week and things have not been getting better as their nuclear power generators are having some serious issues.  I've already blogged about all of that already so that I can focus the weekly review on my week instead.

I've been reading updates about things happening in Japan and it looks like the first round of the Super GT is still at the moment set to start on the first weekend of April.  This might change though but at the moment I'm still happy to see that the disaster hasn't affected to much stuff other than a few events that are happening his week.

On this side of the ocean my roommate and I went to the 39th Annual Boise Roadster Show on Friday and I had the pictures uploaded by Saturday.  You can read about both the Roadster Show and the Miss Roadster Show on my car blog.

The rest of Saturday was spent watching the news and going to MoNAC which was a great way to get my mind off the tragedy that was unfolding in Japan.  Since I traded Friday for Sunday I pretty much wasted Sunday having to head back to work.  So Honestly at the moment I'm just a bit out of  place especially since it was also daylight Saving on Saturday.

So now I'm at Monday morning and as soon as I'm finished with this post and the Miss Roadster Show post I'll be heading out looking at purchasing a new to me car.  We went to the public auction on Friday to check out the inventory for Saturday's auction and didn't find anything there that I was interested in so it looks like I'll be picking up that white VW Jetta that I looked at on Monday last week.

I did find some nice videos this week as well

So how do you kick off the new year of autoshows and motorsports events in Idaho? Well you start off with the Boise Roadster show. Since it's in March and it's rather cold how do you heat up the night? Well with the Miss Roadster show of course. This is the second year I've filmed the Miss Roadster Show and had to drag along a friend to take pictures.

The 2010 Miss Roadster Show was a bit smaller this year with only 15 entrants instead of last years 20+ entrants. There were a few repeat entrants this year and aside from the winner the runner ups were repeats from last year as well. I did like that there was a cute Asian lady just to bad she decided use hunting boots instead of camo high heels or something.

I'll admit that some of the girls are not the type that you would consider hotties but hey you still gotta give them props for getting half naked and on a stage in front of drooling boys. I'd dare you to do the same thing. Hey at least this year a girl didn't think it would be a great time to self pierce her belly button and bleed all over the place before the contest.

Since I dragged along a friend to take pictures it freed me up to take film of the girls. It was a bit hard considering we had a tall hottie sitting in front of us so I was constantly trying to film over her head but I got all the girls on their own video and then filmed the group and the winners. You can find all the videos on my YouTube page and the pictures of the show can be found on Flickr. I might go back and see if I can't work on some more but I'm right in the middle of doing all the car show pictures and the autocross pictures.

What a week. This was a busy and fun week with lots of fun stuff a lot of work and a 13hr nappy time on Sunday which is why the Weekly Review is a day late. Since I have lots of pictures you'd think I'd use one for this post but no those are for their respective blog posts so it's even more lovely Race Queen goodness instead. I'm sure you don't mind.

So the beginning of the week was pretty no nonsense it wasn't until about Friday that everything got all sorts of a busy. First up was the 38th annual Boise ID Roadster Show. I dragged one of my friends along with so that he could take pictures of the Bikini Show while I filmed it. That was pretty interesting but had a smaller number of contestants than last year. I'll post more about that tomorrow. The Roadster show it self was smaller than last year as well and I don't think it was nearly as good but there was the Porsche 911 GT3 so I has happy about that. I'm still working on those pictures.

Saturday was supposed to be a yard work day but holy hell it snowed a pretty good amount on Saturday morning and stuck around until about midday. After that some friends came over and we all played a board game while a former roommate's girlfriend and mom came over to move out the rest of his stuff. After the game I got ready and headed out to the Saturday night MoNAC anime club meetup which was alright and it's good that we are sticking to our schedule which is nice.

Sunday was a blast minus the daylight savings time which sucks when you have to get up an hour earlier than you'd normally do. All for some home brewed motorsports in the form of Autocross. Even though it was cold it was nice and sunny and for the first event there was a huge turn out with some 80 odd cars and I did a lot of filming and photographing and I'll get to blogging about that probably on Wednesday. Mostly because it'll take me that long to get everything uploaded.

When we got home it was about 7pm and after watching The Simpsons I simply passed out and didn't wake up until this morning after a good 13hrs of glorious sleep. Which will suck when it comes to work tonight as I wont be tired again for some time. Anyways after posting this it'll be photo editing time so I'll have to leave you with something interesting to watch...

Another week has yet again flown by. Little happened this week besides the routine work, sleep repeat. Did a bit more packing and cleaning but the constant on again off again rain which is rather unusual for this time of year. In any case I was sitting here thinking of what I could blog about for this week and while the thought of blogging about my pealing sun burnt skin disgusts me and probably you I remembered something that I didn't blog about last week or on the last autocross blog and that was the rather interesting thing about getting strippers to show up at the autocross event.

An idea from one of the guys who owns/manages (I'm not sure really) the local Spearmint Rhino bikini bar said that he'd bring some girls over to help promote the Snake River Region SCCA club at the Big Boy Toy Expo and on the forum we we all excited about that idea whoohoo Strippers at autocross...yeah then they showed up in their single piece stretch fit jumper outfit. Two of them both from what I'd call the lunch group ladies. If you've ever been to a bikini bar in the early hours of the day the girls are not the A-list dancers you get on Friday and Saturday evenings far from it. In other orders not so pretty strippers showed up and none of us were excited about the strippers after we caught an eyeful of the girls. Good laugh on us I guess. There was two other girls there promoting a new bar as well that were out hanging around the autocross and I recognized one girl from the Miss Roadster show that was held during the Boise Roadster Show from January. This is her video from the Miss Roadster show.

This was the last week of the Moko Top Girl voting at Moko.cc and I don't know if it was due to me posting about it (LOL I highly doubt I had any part in it) but Momo jumped from 7th to 2nd for a good couple days and she finally settled on what should be the last day of voting at 4th place. Not to bad and hey at least she made the top five right. This means I'm taking a break from posting Moko Top Girls in the hottie of the day section and posting other hottie Asian girls for your enjoyment. So with that I give you the end of another week and another pair of hottie Race Queens.

First car show of the year is always the Boise Roadster Show which was held on the Second weekend of March and while I have gone to it before I've passed going for several years due to the high volume of the same old same old year after year. This year my roommate's father entered his 65 Mustang and we got 4 day passes so decided to go this year since well I was bored and I heard there was a couple Porsche displays and a GTR. Then there was also the bikini contest. Figured what better way to break the winter doldrums and lack of any video postings than to film the bikini contest and take the 50mm lens out for a test drive.

We went on Friday evening pretty much to look about take some pictures and of course to film the bikini contest. You can read about that on the previous two posts. I found out that the 50mm lens doesn't work so well for car shows but the roommate did get some good shots of the girls with it while I was filming. So that means I had to go back on Saturday to shot the cars which wasn't too bad at all really.

I went back myself on Saturday morning and apparently so did everyone else. I got there soon after it was open for the day and the place was already packed. Of course that just makes it very hard to shot the cars with people standing in front of them talking and doing stupid people things. So yeah the cars. Actually it looked to me that there was a bit less turn out than the previous years that I've been to it. A sign of the times perhaps. I did check out the Silver GTR and it's HUGE and awesome in person. There was also a new Hyundai Genesis Coupe as well as a Nissan 370Z and while I've already seen the 370Z the Genesis coupe looks pretty nice in person as well.

As I'm a huge Porsche fan I was really looking forward to the Porsche display until I saw it and then the dealership display. Crappy displays both of them. The dealership which has a Porsche Design Cayman and a white 911 Turbo Cab at their dealership only brought a plain jane Boxster and a 911 C2 Cab. What in the piss, it's a car show bring the cool shit out for people to look at not the boring everyday things. They did have a Cayanne GTS but they've had that thing forever.

But it wasn't nearly as crappy as the Silver Sage Porsche club display. Remember them they do a show in October yeah well this display sucked and I took a picture of it to show how not to do a display. They had five cars crammed into a tiny space and had it roped off with stupid checkered triangles and the larger safety cones making it imposable to take any type of good picture since the rope was almost on top of cars. Really crappy display and the worst at the show by far. They didn't even mention anything about their own show in October what a way to pass up an opportunity to advertise. Not the worst looking cars though, no that goes to one of those god awful hideous 53 commemorative edition Corvettes sitting next to an overpriced new ZR-1 Corvette.

As for all the other stuff...well it wasn't half bad if you're into the trailer queened roadster and muscle car scene. I'm not so much but it was a good opportunity to take some more car show pictures and do something other than surf the Internet at home on a Saturday morning. I did like seeing the GTR finally and the bikini contest was also fun to watch. I'm definitely looking forward to the other car shows this year though. In the mean time you can find all the other pictures from the Roadster Show here.

Finally the Cabin Fever and carshow doldrums are over. And an interesting week was had, for a change. First we had a meeting at work this week to discuss the laundry folding problem and yet it still hasn't been resolved really. So still mad about doing all the work at work. Even though 3pm meetings suck ass I was able to give Chronic Tacos a try and I have to say the food is pretty good but the hours suck ass, well for me anyways. Then of course I went to see Watchmen and you know how that went if you read my blog.

But then the weekend rolled around and FINALLY some real change up to the world. Friday night my roommate and I went to the Boise Roadster Show to look at cars and more importantly film the Miss Roadster bikini contest. The last time I went to the bikini contest there wasn't more than a handful of girls in the contest but this time there was a record 27 girls there.

The audience was also rather interesting as well. My poor roommate had to sit next to a couple of dorks who thought that the GTR that was there was barely street legal because I shit you not they thought it could do 340mph. Then during the show there were people behind us who were making some great comments. There was some ragging on the girls in the show which I'll admit some of those girls in the audience could have been in contest themselves, I wish the cute lil' Asian girl was. But still I think it's a put up or shut up situation and it's not nice to make fun of others. OK maybe some of it was deserved but you'll never catch me saying...crap. Then there were the guys who really loved their Buffalo Wild Wings Restaurant as anytime one of the girls mentioned they worked for Hooters, Busters and even Cheerleaders they had to scream out something about
Buffalo Wild Wings. Good Viral Marketing if you ask me and I'll take that check now Buffalo Wild Wings management. No, maybe a years worth of food perhaps? Still have to try it out one of these days since it's right close to work. Then Saturday I went back with the right lens for the camera and took pictures of the cars. More on the car part of the show tomorrow.

Took me forever to post the videos and pictures from the car show but I found it interesting how much my traffic increased after posting the bikini show pictures (that my roommate took while I was filming) I added a picture so you can see for your self the jump in traffic. That was only one day and before the car pictures were added.

Well that was it for this week a bit more interesting than usual thankfully. Don't know what I'm doing for Hottie of the Day yet so it'll be a surprise or just random.

What's better than the first car show of the season? Well that's the bikini contest that happens during the car show of course. It's a great way to break cabin fever and car show doldrums. It's also a great time to add some new videos and pictures. After all who doesn't like lovely ladies in bikinis strutting around on digital film and stills.

This years Miss Roadster show was pretty big (A record actually) with 27 lovely ladies competing for $1000 in cash prizes. There was a nice variety of ladies and to be honest I was impressed by the 34 year-old mother of 7 and the couple other ladies who just recently had their own babies. Sadly there wasn't an Asian in the whole bunch. There was a cute one in the audience but she doesn't count. Actually there were a couple ladies in the audience that could have easily been in the show themselves.

You can find all the videos here on my YouTube page. I filmed each girl individually and then I filmed the winners and the group as a whole. In total I filmed 29 videos for you're enjoyment.

A few things about the videos though. I didn't bring the tripod (didn't want to lug the thing around at the show) so some of the videos are a bit shaky at time so you'll have to forgive that. I also have no idea who the people are in the background making some comments. The last thing is that since there is copyrighted music on the videos YouTube one of these days may disable the audio part of the videos. In addition to the videos I had my roommate snap away with the other camera as well so that I could have some pictures to post as well and you can find the ones that turned out here on flickr.

As for the Boise Roadster Show I'll write about that hopefully on Tuesday as I'll be doing the weekly review on Monday like usual.

Boise Roadster Show PREVIEW

Spring is finally just right around the corner and so is another year of car shows and autocross. The first major car show here in the Treasure Valley is the Boise Roadster Show starting March 12 and going until the 15th. This year Scott's dad is entering his 65 Mustang so Scott and I can get passes for the entire event for $12 instead of $9 per day so it'll be nice to break the current dead spell of automotive posts by going to this years show. I've been to the show before twice and this is what I have to say about it. It's a resounding big fat MEH. I didn't even go to the last two events because my dad was right when he told me that once you go you don't really need to go again because it'll be the same stuff every year. It also doesn't help at all that I'm not all that interested in that type of vehicle class. I don't care about some guys $100,000.00 trailer queen. So I end up seeing maybe one or two cars that really interest me there and the rest I couldn't care about.

So why am I going this year. Other than to break the automotive dry spell there's the need to test out the new lens. I still haven't done anything with the new 50mm prime lens that I picked up recently so I figure it'll be a good time to break it in so to speak and there might be a bikini contest (the show is called a "great family event" so I don't know if they got rid of that or not. Anyways I figured it would be a fun thing to shoot with the camcorder to post on YouTube to not only post something new (haven't posted anything since a LONG time) and hey it's girls in bikini's and that equals LOTS of hits (so long as they're cute) that will maybe translate into more people visiting here as well. At least I can hope right.

In any case I dug up some of my older pictures that I took at the earlier Roadster shows so that you could see what kind of cars I'm talking about. If they interest you great but for me I just took some pictures for my dad and long since forgot about them until now. This year will be a bit more interesting since Scott's dad is in it (I'll vote for him) and oh my yeah they are even going to have the original Batmobile (from the TV Batman show) there as well...I can't contain my excitement on that bit of news let me tell ya. Mostly I'll just be interested in the bikini contest for my own personal gain and your enjoyment as well.

Better news than the Roadster show though is that autocross will be back on March 28 so I best have my project Umbrella finished by then as well. All I need is a stupid photography light stand but I can only find them in pairs or short ones.
