Burn baby burn! And that's exactly what I did this week. Got a bit of a sun burn on my arms and face and neck while I was out at this weeks autocross but more on the autocross tomorrow when I write my full report on it. So yeah I'm whining like a little baby about my burnt skin any time I rub up against something so it's really not helping while I cleanup the house and pack my belongings for the big move at the end of the month.

Been applying for more jobs this last week and while I did get an interview with WDSGlobal after reading a couple rant postings about the place on IMS I decided maybe I should wait and see if I get any other leads before going there since it doesn't look like that great of a place to work after all.

Other than that the week was the usual work, sleep and repeat routine although I've been having issues with my computer that seems to be related to lose cables on the hard drive that keeps the drive from booting up so now the computer is sitting on its side torn apart at the moment. I would really like to get an air compressor to blow out all the damn dust that I found in the computer.

A couple little side notes I saw the little black kitty walking though our front yard with a huge squirrel in it's mouth just happily dragging it along to our backyard where I presume it had some nice noms. It's going to be fun when I get back into the backyard to clean it up before we move who knows how many lil squirrel bodies I'll find back there. The second note is that this was a wacky weather week where it liked to storm just about every day of the week followed by a large hail storm on Saturday night. Kept things nice and unseasonably cool and wet and made the morning part of the autocross rather interesting even though I didn't get a lot of the spins since I was photographing the cars at that time and not filming. Like I said more on that tomorrow though.

At the end of the week the voting for the Moko Top Girl will be over and oddly enough after I posted the last post about voting for Momo she jumped from 7th to 2nd during the week. Holy cow I wish it was because of me but I know that it was more than likely not. Who cares so long as you all keep voting and let the best (MOMO!) girl win. But since I post enough Moko girls you get another Race Queen for today's picture. Sadly still no Gals Paradise Race Queen books for this season.

It's that time of year again and Super GT racing action is back on and I actually managed to get GOOD videos of the first round and I'm currently getting the second round as I type (yeah OK so I'm a bit slow to get going this year) the only problem is that the shows are almost 3hrs long but it's all awesome racing. This year, like all forms of racing, have suffered a bit in the economic downturn and there are less cars fielding both groups this year.

The GT500 field has only 15 cars running and it's the Nissan GT-Rs vs Toyota/Lexus SC430s vs Honda NSX but also running (maybe not the entire year) is an odd duck of sorts and the only non Japanese car an Aston Martin DBR9. The GT300 field is once again a wide assortment of cars ranging from Autobacs own ASL Garaiya to only a handful of Porsche 911 cars and making a comeback this year is the Itasha BMW Z4 of Studio GLAD Racing and Good Smile Racing. I'm looking forward to a good showing of that car this year. The GT300 field has a total of 23 cars running.

Of course what is a new Super GT race season without a new bunch of cutie race queens. Haven't seen many images posted yet but hopefully that will change and I'll keep an eye out for any new Gals Paradise Race Queen books and maybe pick one up again. Of course there isn't that many available pictures of the cars either and to be honest I have a harder time hunting down good quality images of the race cars than I do the race queens. In any case look forward to hopefully some good blogs about the 2009 Autobacs Super GT season during the coming year.

INGS Race Queen air freshener

Well holy freaking crap. Remember that dashboard lil' itty bitty race queen figure that I found out at one of the autocross events way back in the beginning of the summer and how I was looking for her but never found her? Anyways I was cruising eBay looking for something cool and decided to do a search for race queen stuff and low and behold what should be one of the many many links but that lil' race queen. Then I figured out why I couldn't find her earlier. I was searching for figures but she's actually a freaking air freshener. Yeah that's what I thought as well. Turns out she's an INGS (Nissan race parts) Race Queen Air Freshener made for GALSParadise (the same people who put out the Race Queen guides and other Japanese girly mags) and can be found at just about any Import tunershop webpage for an unsightly price of $15 (or more) + shipping. I did find that if you bought INGS products from one place that they would include the lil' race queen for free but then you are spending some serious dough for car parts to get her.

So now that I've found her, and have been looking around to find the best deal, am I going to order one to have a lil' race queen sitting on my dash to freshen up my car? Probably not, I mean it's $20 for a freaking air freshener and she's not nearly as cute now that I've seen an up close image of her. There are a lot more interesting and much better quality race queen figures out there to be had but they are more than 3x the money as well. It would be funny to get her and hog tie her to the Tein umbrella so that I can say that I have a RQ holding my umbrella but then I think I'd be the only one to find that funny. Maybe I'll ask Santa for one, it is getting close to Christmas after all (they already have Christmas stuff up already at Walmart).
