Watched this preview and short OVA for an interesting looking Anime Feature Film called Literature Girl (or for those who like the Japanese name Bungaku Shojo) some time ago and never got around to blogging about it until now. The movie will be released during Golden Week so don't expect this to be available to the fansubbers until very late this year. Of course that shouldn't keep us from marking this down as a must see movie.
It helps a lot that my favorite anime company is working on the project. Production I.G is teaming up with T.O Entertainment, Inc. and Enterbrain, Inc. to bring the light novel Bungaku Shojo to theaters. While it may take some time for the fansubbers to get a chance to watch it we were treated to a trailer and a short 15 minute OVA story to give us an idea of what we get to look forward to.
The story starts when Amano Touko catches Inoue Konoha nibbling on pages of a book. Because He sees this happening she forces him to join the literature club. From there we find ourselves in the club room where Inoue Konoha has Amano Touko write her a fantastic story for her to devour. In the OVA you are not told as to why Inoue Konoha eats the pages of the book but from a little bit of digging it turns out that Inoue Konoha is a spirit and that's what she does to experience the books as she takes seat and watches the book unfold in front of her. Of course Amano Touko has his own ghosts in closet as he turns out to be a reclusive famous author.
If the OVA is any indication to how good the movie will be I think I'll like it, now I just have to sit her and twiddle my thumbs until it gets released and subbed. So I'll be here for quite a while.
Here is the second trailer that shows a lot more of the cast and what not that were not featured in the OVA.
