Shooter Saturday -- H&K MP5

Last week was a big gun this week it's a not so big gun. This week's Shooter Saturday will take a look at the H&K MP5 a well known SMG that has been around before even I was born. For me the first time I took note of the MP5 was when I first saw one in the movie Lethal Weapon which was actually a hacked up HK94 but after that I started seeing them more often in movies and in games.

Personally I think they had their time and while they are still cool especially since you can still occasionally find civi-legal select fire models for about $16,000 it would be a fun little full auto toy if you could afford it. But yeah today there are so many other cool SMGs on the market that the MP5 seems old and outdated. But that doesn't mean it's an obsolete firearm by any means. The MP5 is still used by many forces around the world in many different model variations. I could have picked up one of the smaller semi-auto pistol versions some years ago for a little over $3k. Even now there is a new .22 semi-auto version available for some fun plinking called the GSG-5.

The main reason why this deserves to be a Shooter Saturday feature even though it old and there are better things out there is because if there was no MP5 there wouldn't be the other guns. The MP5 is simply a great gun that is easy to shoot, easy to maintain, light weight, accurate and easily customizable for many different rolls. It has been around for a while and it'll be around for a while longer. If I had the cash I'd have picked up one of the class III versions, heck I'd just like to give one a go for a little bit. Try out that HK slap, which honestly doesn't ever make any since to me why they do that in the movies since that notch at the back of the bolt action is the bolt hold for cleaning and what not. Anyways let check out an awesome video of MP5s in action.

Foxy Friday -- Miss Lena

With how many drop dead gorgeous women there are floating around Moko.cc it's really hard to pick just one. The good thing is that I only have to pick one today. So today's Foxy lady is going to be the lovely Miss Lena (Amelia Lena?) who caught my eye some time ago but those pictures are now offline (damn you Moko.cc for taking down pictures), since than I've always been checking her page to see any new photosets that are posted up. Thanks to the bombed out harddrive all my old pictures of her are long gone and I can't find any of them anywhere any more.

I don't know much about Miss Lena since even using Google's Translate page it doesn't actually say much about her other than what you can read at the top of the page that tells you she is a translator, still model and actor which seems to be like a lot of the other girls. So yeah I don't know much about her other than she's a foxy lady. I also couldn't find any videos of her either so no video this week.

You can find all of her current pictures here... Miss Lena.

Moyashimon: Live Action Drama

Do you remember watching the first opening and trailer for Moyashimon: Tales of Agriculture and how it looked like it might actually be live action drama and not an anime? When it first came out I remember thinking that. Now however it looks like that will actually be happening now. That's right those cartoonish looking microbes are getting their own live action Drama. I can't wait, normally I don't care for J-Dramas but this one I might just make an exception for.

I loved the anime and am looking at picking up the manga for a read so I'm super excited to hear that we're getting some more cute microbes but am saddened, to be honest, that it's not in the form of another anime season.

I'll also be honest, I'm really looking forward to seeing what the girls are going to look like and what is going to happen in regards to Trap. At the moment all we really know is that it will air on Fuji TV starting in July, 2010, and is staring Yuichi Nakamura who is better known for his Kamen Rider roles.

Thankfully there has been a new trailer released onto the Internet so you can check that out as well below.

2010 Spring Anime Movies

Is it that time already. Yup time in flying still and the next season of anime is literally right around the corner. Since Chartfag has his V1 chart up and Moetron has their pretty thorough listing online it's pretty easy to pick through the upcoming new shows to find something cool to watch in the upcoming 2010 Spring season. I already have a few picked out and I'm sure I'll find some new things along the way.

When I actually started this I was going to do all three movies, OVAs and TV shows all in one post but after doing the movies then the OVAs and not looking forward to the TV shows I decided to split the 2010 Spring Anime season up into three more manageable to read posts. All will be released at once so all you have to do is read them one at a time First will be the movies. Of course while I can mention them now we all that more than likely as fansub watchers we probably wont see them any time soon. Anyways on to the upcoming movies.

NEW ANIME MOVIE RELEASES
Time of Eve: I loved the short ONA series that was aired on Crunchyroll and a full length feature film that joins all those episodes and even adds additional footage is a wonderful thing to look forward to watching. We'll have to wait for the DVD. Check out a Time of Eve trailer below:

Eden of the East movie II -- Paradise Lost: Looks like the second film is definitely coming out in March so it'll probably be the fall until we see it on DVD. I'm still excited though. Check out the trailer:

Trigun -- Badlands Rumble: Will be out in Japan at the end of April so we might get it late fall on DVD. All I know is that I'm really looking forward to some new Trigun anime. Check out the trailer.

King of Thorns: This looks like it will be a world wide release in May so we might get to see it at that time. In any case it looks like a pretty interesting movie that I'll have to check out for sure. You really have to check out the trailer.

Bungaku Shoujo or Literature Girl will be out at the beginning of May so it probably wont make it to DVD until really late Winter or the beginning of the next year. I'm really interested in this one. You can check out the trailer below.

Break Blade: At the end of May is this sci-fi mecha action movie that I'm really interested in seeing again though the DVD will take some time to come out probably at the end of the year. You can check out the trailer below. Someone mentioned that it may be six movies so it'll be like Garden of Sinners time wise.

Planzet: I really haven't heard much about this one but it's looking like a new CGI Mecha movie shot like the latest Appleseed but looking like Armored Core video game. Definitely looks interesting and I'll keep my ear to the ground for this one since it doesn't have a release date. Trailer definitely looks interesting.

2010 Spring Anime OVA Series

My second part of my three part 2010 Spring Anime season will focus on OVA like series that I'm interested in checking out. Like the first part you can find more information and other OVA/OAD/ONA series that you might be interested in at Moetron. With OVAs and the such there are new series starting up one shots and continuing OVAs from previous seasons. This season looks to end a few of one's I've been watching.

So lets check out some of those coming up OVAs for the new 2010 Spring Anime season

NEW/ONGOING OVA SERIES
Darker Than Black OVA II: The second episode of the OVA series will be out in late March and I really need to get on the ball and watch the first episode before to long. Here's the trailer for the first one didn't see one for the second episode.

Super Street Fighter IV: Will be getting an OAD with the release of the new game. The same studio behind Afro Samurai is doing this one as well so you know it'll be bad ass. I'm really looking forward to it being released in late April. Check out the trailer for yourself.

Black Rock Shooter: Will definitely be interesting to check out considering who is behind it all. Based on Good Smile Company products it promises to be rather entertaining. Say a rather weird preview for it a while ago which was upside down and subless but from what I've seen it'll be pretty good. Check out the trailer.

Utawarerumono: The last OVA episode will be out this season and I'm looking forward to finishing it up. Netflix chucked their season disks so I can no longer check the season out like I had wanted to right now but I'll look for it later in other places. Check out the trailer.

To love-Ru: The last episode of this series will be out as well and I'll be looking forward to finishing that off as well. I haven't seen anyone sub the fifth OVA episode yet so hopefully that will be done soon. I couldn't find a trailer just for the OVA series but enjoy this preview for the series anyways.

Finally got to the third part of my multi-part release on the upcoming 2010 Spring Anime season and this time we'll be taking a look at the upcoming TV programs that I'm interested in checking out. There is a lot more out there and you can definitely check out Chartfag, Moetron and other sources for more information on the new TV programs that I'm not checking out.

A lot of the new TV series don't have new trailers out at the moment so I'll be updating this when I find new trailers on YouTube for the ones I don't have. Again this season looks to have an equal share of fanservice guilty pleasures, interesting stories and enough moe blob goodness. At least that's the stuff I'm watching.

NEW ANIME TV SERIES
Ikkitousen -- Xtreme Xecutor: Is the first TV show that will be airing in late March and I think I finally found a subbed episode of the CM77 preview disk so more on that later. Lets face it a new Ikkitousen will be hated by some and loved by others and I'll be checking out all the fanservice myself. Check out the trailer:

Shin Koihime†Musou ~Otome Tairan~: I haven't even finished the second season and they are starting on another one. I haven't seen the second one other than a few episodes because I've been waiting for the uncensored versions on DVD. So I'll probably do the same with this next season as well. Cute little chibi trailer for you

K-on!!: Probably the most sought after new season K-on in all it's moe blob goodness will be back in April for another round of great anime goodness. UPDATED -- new trailer for season two...

Senkou no Night Raid: This one looks like an interesting history spy type anime that might just be a gem in the rough. I'll be checking it out. UPDATED -- New trailer.

Heroman: It may be good it may suck I'm not entirely sure what will happen but you know what I'm going to check it out but I haven't seen any trailers or previews for it. I also don't know if this will be fast tracked to America considering it's Stan Lee's project. UPDATED -- New Trailer. Watched the first episode it was good.

Kaichou wa Maid-sama! I'm not entirely sure if I'll be watching this one or not but it involves maid cafe's and school girls what could possibly go wrong with that. UPDATED -- New Trailer

Mayoi Neko Overrun!: Hey look another moe blog type anime I'm not entirely sure what's going on but it looks like cute girls in a restaurant and it might have something to do with kitty cats but you can check out the trailer below:

Kiss X Sis: If you liked the OVA series than you'll probably like the anime series as well. I'll be watching it as a good ol' guilty pleasure I'm sure. UPDATED -- New Trailer

Ichiban Ushiro no Dai Maou: This looks like a guilty pleasure type magical school combat show. Looks like a good healthy dose of fanservice and comedy. Yup I'll be checking it out. In the mean time you can check out the trailer below:

Hakuouki -- Shinsengumi Kitan: Looks like a historical romance fighting anime it might be good it might not be but I'll give it a shot. Also looks like it's based off a Playstation game as well. UPDATED -- Still no real trailer but the OP is up if you want to check it out.

Working!!: Another highly anticipated anime series is Working!! and it's going to be on my list. UPDATED -- Watched the pre-release episode and it was great! Trailer is up now as well too.

B Gata H Kei: SEX! OK it's an odd choice but it totally looks like a fun guilty pleasure. It'll be interesting to see how it goes but it doesn't have a trailer yet. UPDATED -- New Trailer is out as well as the first episode.

Iron Man: Oh yeah you know you've been waiting for this since it was first announced and it'll be here this April. I can't wait to check this out. You can check out the trailer again below.

Angel Beats!: Oh hey look it's another highly anticipated anime for the new season. I'm going to be checking out this school combat like mystery show. You can check out one of the trailers below.

Arakawa under the Bridge: This might be another interesting diamond in the rough anime and of course there isn't a trailer out yet for you check out but I'll put one up as soon as I find one. UPDATED -- Real anime trailer is up finally, does look interesting and I'll check it out.

Raise your hand if you got a sunburn this week...Raises Hand. Ayup three hours in the sun this Sunday morning without sunscreen (hey it's like 35 degrees outside and cloudy why would I need that) on and when we got home I was in my room going...ffffuuuu why am I so freaking hot. Then it hit me....fffffuuuu I just spent three hours in the sun and we're heading back out soon for a big IMS meetup. So I did get some sunscreen on before we went out to the meetup but it was too late. The good thing is that this week was pretty fun. You still have to suffer with a Race Queen picture to keep you company. Like you really mind right.

I did finally receive my Figma Ein this week and I'll be doing a photoshot of all the cool swag I picked up with my tax refund. I also picked up Halo Legends as well this week. Have I watched it yet, no not yet. I started watching it and fell a sleep. The rest of the week was pretty normal work was work but we had a bunch of kids in and holy hell it got busy.

Friday was good because I got my Grandma's cars tires changed over from the studded tires but that was a damn odd part of the day since I had forgotten an oil can that I had picked up so I had to go back and pick that up and by the time I had gotten home the second time I realized that I still had my Grandma's car keys in my pocket. DAMMIT!

After that I help my roommate get the RX8 running and it was fouled plugs and seriously flooded. So we took it for a drive and stopped by the the Porsche Dealership and I figured since the place was still opened I'd pick up a card from the Porsche guy but turns out he didn't work there anymore so ended up talking to the guy who was selling the Porsches and asked if we could check out the 911 GT3 that they had and while checking it out I thought I'd ask if I could sit in it. Oh hell ya I got to sit in a brand spanking new 911 GT3. It was definitely a very snug fit and I felt very loved sitting in that seat. That car is just sex in metal form. I made a contact I hope to take some pictures of the cars if they move them out of the show room but I can shoot it in the showroom if I want to as well.

After that we decided to go look at the Audi V10 R8 and yeah it's hot as well. Didn't get to sit in that though. Surprised that it was actually more than the 911 GT3. Saturday I was spent the morning back at my Grandma's house dropping off her car keys and yapping with my dad, aunt and uncle who also showed up at the house as well. Busy morning that's for sure. That evening I went to the MoNAC anime meetup which was pretty good since we hadn't had one of those in a while.

Then Sunday rolled around at it was a Dyno day in the morning ton of IMS members showed up to dyno their cars the roommate's Turbo charged RX8 made a little over 270 hp which is good but can be improved upon with a better tune. That was the top car for a while until they put the Viper with Nitrous and a Supercharger that pushed some 630+ hp and I left that smelling of exhaust and getting the first sunburn of the year. After that was the first big meetup for Idaho Motorsports which was a pretty big turn out. Had a pretty good time chit chatting with folks, listening to stories and having some good noms. Got some more stickers for the laptop and photography case as well so that was good. Now after a fresh shower to wash off the sunscreen so that I could cover up with the aloe lotion I'm feeling good and feel like I had a pretty damn good week. To bad all of them can't be like this.

For this week's video I saw a post about Kirsten Dunst doing a video for a friend as a super kawaii anime fairy in Akihabara Majokko Princess, it's freaking awesome and hopefully this one lasts for a couple of days.

Shooter Saturday -- M14

What shooter Saturday would be complete without the venerable M14. A high powered battle rifle chambered in .308 (or 7.62x51mm) that first saw battle in WWII up until 1970 when it was replaced by the M16/M4. Lately though due to poor performance lethality wise of the M16/M4 the M14 has seen a resurgence of being issued into the field. Updated with the latest technology, optics and stocks the M14 has been modernized and updated to better compete in today's battlefield situations.

I love the M14 but I find that the old wooden stocked version is just to damn heavy to be a fun gun to shoot. Take a Saiga 308 another AK clone made into a hunting rifle chambered in the same .308 round. It's lighter and easier to use than the wooden stocked M14 Also with the Saiga's 16 in barrel length it's much easier to handle than the longer barreled M14.

Then it happened Springfield introduced the M14 SOCOM 16 which came with a 16in barrel and lighter synthetic stock. But the mods didn't stop there. Many companies started offering drop in stock options that ranged from the sci-fi sniper light weight synthetic stock like the JAE system stocks to the modular drop in pistol grip rail heavy CQB type stock offered by Troy Industries. You could basically drop the main parts of a M14 into just about any type of stock configuration that you could possibly dream for.

All of this made me fall in love with the M14 all over again and with the new updates it in my opinion can be a nice rifle to own the only draw back to it over the Saiga 308 now is the price. M14s are not cheap and their new age parts and stock are not cheap either. A nicely set up M14 can easily top $2500 and that's not including any cool ass optics that you want to use.

Here's a video of a modified select fire M14.

Foxy Friday -- Juno from Silkypico

Here is a pretty foxy Asian lady from the past but I'm still smitten about every time she pops up here and there and since she just did pop up on 4chan a couple days ago I decided that I'd give her today's Foxy Friday spot. Juno is her name (no last name) and her handful of sets that she did for Silkypico are the only thing that she has done that anyone can find. It's like she up and disappeared and because of that I will always have a sad :( because of that.

Juno only did four sets of picture for Silkypico and it's not hard at all to find a working zip of the sets. She also did a few videos that went with the photosets and and there are 9 of them in total.

Juno was actually one the first Asian girls that I went rapid for and spent a lot of time looking for her pictures when they were first released all those years ago. I actually found many of the Asian forums that I follow because of her. Sadly only one of them is left and that's Scanlover. I actually do wish that she would come back and do some more photosets but I know that wont be likely and that there will be many more like her to replace her so it's not like we'll be wanting for more hot foxy Asians but Juno is still one of my favs.

Here's a pretty good video of her on YouTube:

Sleeping wih Hinako

So did you get a good night sleep last night? No? Maybe you should try getting into bed with the very cute Hinako who is back with another DVD titled Sleeping with Hinako. She's back in another DVD to help fellow Otaku get a better night sleep. Hinako is once again breaking down that fourth wall and inviting you the viewer to sleep with her.

The Sleeping with Hinako DVD is setup a bit differently than a regular episode and if you watch the 46 minute subbed version you'll get a rather different experience than if you have the DVD. While the subbed episode gives you those 46 minutes of Hinako fanservice. The looping of her sleeping can get a bit boring and I found myself fast forwarding though about half of it. The good thing is that it's not just her tossing and turning in that cute little baby doll outfit. We get a glimpse of her dreams which no surprise revolve around her weight. She also does a bit of late night snacking. She even falls out of bed wakes up and decides it's a good time to confess that she likes you and gives you a little kiss all before heading back to bed. Heck she'll even sign you a little lullaby before she her self drifts off to sleep.

Eventually morning arrives and the alarm goes off waking her up. There are a few different scenes of her waking up. All in all for a single episode it really doesn't work out all that well. Sure it's a lot of fanservice and a pretty voyeuristic look at a girl sleeping but since I don't have the DVD to really evaluate it's overall use. I'm sure it will sell like crazy just like the first one which of course means that there will likely be more so the question is which one will be next. Cooking with Hinako? Bathing with Hinako perhaps? There is probably a lot of ideas out there.

I haven't been able to find a trailer or preview on YouTube for the new one so you'll just have to settle for this older version until I can find a video for the new one.

Kowarekake no Orgel

Damn! What a way to surprise a guy with a good sob story. I saw some murmurs on /a/ about a short OVA called Kowarekake no Orgel and after a while I decided to check it out and low and behold I was not expecting what I watched. I just figured it was some sweet little moe story about a boy and his android but what I got was something else entirely.

Kowarekake no Orgel is a self published Doujin anime that was released during Comic Market 77 and is a short little story about a sad lonely musician who finds a broken android in a trash pile near a Shrine one rainy day. He picks it up and takes it to a fixer who tells him that it's hopeless to fix. Keiichiro is the sad lonely musician and he is resigned to placing the android in the trash pile. During the night however the android starts working again and Keiichiro awakens in the morning to find the little android making dinner in his kitchen.

For some reason the android doesn't have any memories and she doesn't know what her name is so Keiichiro names her flower after the Sunflower that is in his living room. Keiichiro and flower develop a bond as he teahes her about life and all the things that matter. Keiichiro leaves flower at home one day as he goes and sees his family grave side and we learn that Keiichiro has had a very sad life losing his parents and his younger sister to a traffic accident. Flower learns about his past as a musician and tries to get him to play but Keiichiro is still sad about his prior life and doesn't want to play. Some time passes and flower begins to have issues. After looking though Flower's little diary he learns that Flower's one wish is to visit the sea. Keiichiro set out to fulfill that wish and the two spend Flower's last day sitting by the sea humming a tune that Keiichiro used to play for his younger sister. Flower is happy and Keiichiro takes her back to that same chair in the trash pile and leaves her once again with a sunflower in her lap. We then see Keiichiro listening to the same tune that they hummed on the beach in a little music box as he is getting ready to sing on the sidewalk with his guitar.

Yes I sobbed, not nearly as bad as say Grave of the Fireflies sobbed but I still sobbed. While it's got the moe loli going on it has a nice wonderful little story telling that just hits you out of no where. Expecting nothing substantial but some easy going loli moe and instead getting nailed with a solid story doesn't happen a lot and when it does and works well like this did you feel like you just experienced something good. You need to find this and watch this period, end of story. Oh and this is definitely something that would get your girl to cuddle with you, so if you have a non anime fan S.O. this is a great piece to change their mind with.

Here is the preview:

Halo Legends: Odd One Out

posted by sooyup on , ,

Since the DVD and BD are out today and I finished watching all the videos over the weekend I thought I'd get the final episode review out on the same day the DVD is out. The episode Odd One Out is the black sheep of the family a non-canon episode that doesn't have anything to do with the actual story line of the over all Halo story. Although Cortana and Master Chief make cameo appearance they don't have anything really to do with the story other than to poke fun of the Spartan 1337 (get it he's LEET..hahahaha) who seems to be a clumsy Spartan with some seriously bad luck.

Bad enough that the Spartan's story starts with him falling off a Pelican and landing on a very desolate part of a planet. He meets up some children who are dressed like little cavemen people and to make matters worse the Spartan while chatting with the children gets nommed by a T-Rex. The children get the T-Rex to spit out the Spartan by playing catch. Apparently it's a tame T-Rex. In the mean time the Covenant have developed a super weapon like Brute and send him off into space where he lands on the same planet. The Spartan and the children meet up the kids' older siblings and the older siblings tell the Spartan a little bit about their back story. In the mean time the super powered Brute attacks them. The Spartan helps out but it's the older Siblings that kick some series ass. Then we meet momma who the siblings talked about and it turns out that momma is an older UNSC AI that resides in a crashed space ship. It's momma that activates when she sees her children are threatened. The ship activates a slipspace rupture and fires the MAC gun at the brute sending it through the rupture saving the children. Cortana and the Master Chief notice the activation of the AI and the slipspace rupture and are able to make radio contact with the Spartan.

Definitely not part of the greater story and thankfully after the sad story of Homecoming it's a nice comedic departure that helps to lighten the mod. Yeah I'm sure a lot of people were not happy with a stupid story instead of another serious story being added to the set. But hey lighten up it's a funny story that I think helps to lighten the mod after all the death and mayhem that is ever so present in the other stories. The DVDs and BD are out now so go rent it or buy it. You don't need to be a huge Halo fan to enjoy it so don't let that stop you from checking it out. If you are a Halo fan this is a great way to add to the experience. I might be getting it from Netflix early this week if not I'll be picking it up at the end of the week.

Here is a short clip of the misadventures of Spartan 1337.

Halo Legends: Homecoming

The second to last episode for me was Homecoming and if you have been following the none game history or Halo like reading the books you'll have a pretty good understanding of what is going on here and why. This episode is all about the Spartans and is a look at the children who were taken and built up to be Spartans and how they dealt with that fact. This one doesn't have a happy ending.

We know that the children who became Spartans were taking (either willingly from their parents or not) and taken to a secret location to be built up and trained to be the ultimate weapon. Some of those Spartans decided to escape and return to their homes that they were taken from. At this point we follow Spartan Daisy as she returns to her home planet and finds her way to her house.

Finding a young girl who looks exactly like her confined to a wheelchair Daisy is Shocked. Dr. Halsey arrives in time to tell Daisy about the flash clone project to replace the children that were abducted and Dr. Halsey tells Daisy to return to the Spartans. During this conversion Daisy has pointed her pistol at her clone and hesitates to shoot her, she decides to leave instead. The clone stops her and tells her about her dreams of being a strong person able to run and do things and decides to give daisy a little teddy bear on a chain as a gift. The clone doesn't know why she should give Daisy the bear but she knows it's the right thing to do.

Daisy and only one other Spartan return to Reach as the others that escaped have committed suicide after meeting their clones. Daisy's clone is later seen on a death bed soon after as the clones don't have a very long life. We then return to the battle field were we see Daisy fighting along side some Marines in a fight to reach an extraction point. Things don't go great and the Pelican the Marines are supposed to leave on is destroyed while they are waiting for Daisy to reach the Pelican but on her way there she is struck by a Needler and tells them to leave. Since they don't leave the Pelican is destroyed and soon after Daisy succomes to her wounds and passes away.

A while latter another Spartan discovers Daisy's lifeless body and her little Teddy Bear laying in a puddle next to her. He closes her eyes and places her bear in her hands and the episode ends.

DAMN, no happy ending there. This is definitely one of the better but sadder stories in the series of Stories. The animation is good though and since yet again I watched this one on Youtube I'll definitely be looking forward to checking out the better quality when I pick up the DVD (yeah I don't have a BD player yet so I only get to check out the DVD at the moment) later this week.

The DVD and BD are out now. The BD has all the cool stuff and there are two DVD versions one a stripped down episode only DVD and the other one has a few DVD extras.

There isn't a trailer for Homecoming so here is the regular trailer that has some stuff from Homecoming in it.

Hey how's it going another week just zipped by and we are now half way done with February and spring is right around the corner. Here it seems like it's already spring though which means the summer is going to suck something hardcore. This last week was pretty boring and laid back and not much happened. Of course once again I'll be leaving you with a lovely race queen to keep you company.

About the biggest thing that happened this week is that my new to me Laptop showed up and I've been tweaking it ever since. It's my first time working with Vista and damn if I don't need to find that bluetooth wireless mouse someone gave me a while ago though. I hate touchpads. Other than that it's a good little machine but I haven't tried viewing any HD videos on it yet. I'm still waiting for a couple things I bought with my tax money one should be here this coming week but I'm not sure about my Fakku! shirt since it was a pre-order. As soon as the one I'm expecting this week shows up I'll make that post.

On to other things. Well there really isn't other things yeah it was that dead, work was the same had another lame meeting on Wednesday which really screwed up my sleeping patterns once again. Thankfully the Manager has decided to change the time and day of the meeting to Monday which will actually benefit me and make it easier to deal with.

On things not related to me this week Porsche unveiled their new 911 GT3 R Hybrid and it's using a KERS like system for added boost. If money wasn't an issue and I was really looking for a hybrid car I'd definitely plunk down some money for this one. They have a couple videos out and here's their more artistic one. I love the paint scheme they are using of it.

Hope you guys are going to treat your ladies extravagantly today on one of the most important Relationship days (minus whatever anniversary days she may have marked)since you know what happens next month at this time. And you know you want her to repay your kindness and love then as well. So yeah Happy Valentine's Day hope it's a good one and hope everyone is having a wonderful time and I'm kinda glad I don't work tonight as it can get a bit creepy at the hotel on Valentine's.

I could go on about the history of Valentine's Day but really do we need that? We all know what the day is for and those of you who are single get to be flustered and bored in a bar trying to pick up an equally depressed single person to spend the day with but you know what screw that enjoy your freedom to do what ever you want and not having to spend a crap load of money trying to impress your SO hoping that it won't land you on the couch.

I really don't have much more than that. Found an interesting Valentines day video from the lovely ladies of BOMB.TV to make up for the really weak video for the Chinese New Year. You know what skip it have two videos for today.

Happy Chinese New Year!

Today (Oops posted a bit early...it's actually February 14, 2010) is the actual New Year according to the Chinese Lunar calendar and 2010 is the year of the Metal Tiger and it's a rather special new year since it's also the same day as Valentine's day. The Chinese New Year is also the Spring Festival and is the most important family celebration of the year for the Chinese. So it's party time!

While the 15 days of celebration is cool and all you're probably wondering what's cool about the Year of the Tiger. Well the Tiger tends to be a rather active year with lots of drama both good and bad so this year might just be an interesting year. You can find out more about the Tiger horoscope here.

What I really like about the new year of course is all the wonderful new fanservice both 2D and 3D alike that always seems to crop with the new year theme. This year's no exception with the Tiger strip theme. Yum.
Found this video and hey it has cute Chinese girls dancing so it's all good.

Shooter Saturday -- Dillon Aero M134

Also known as the Mini-gun or Gatling gun I wanted to do Shooter Saturday on something just out there and cool and picked the baddest mother fing gun possible. The Dillon Aero M134 is an updated and modernized version of the older GE GAU-2B/M134D. Dillon Aero also offers a modernization package for updating the older GE units. Many people are familiar with the Mini-gun as a single person hand-held weapon thanks Film and video games.

However those are all fake and heavily modified weapons that would never work as a practical weapon platform for several reasons chief among them the recoil that would be generated when firing the weapon. No one would be able to hold onto a seriously heavy weapon while being fired. So sorry you can't have a single person functional Mini-gun of your own like in Predator or Terminator 2. Well actually unless you're in some form of heavy security or military group you pretty much can't have even a mounted one for that matter either. There are a few older GE pre-ban mini-guns in civilian hands but good luck on buying one from it's current owner. I couldn't even imagine the asking price for one of those. If a current M134 is at the high end $75k and usually pre-ban legal select fire weapons tend to go for 3 times the amount well you can see the problem there.

So why even bother blogging about them then? Well lets face it just because you can't buy one doesn't mean you can't like them and watch videos and find them at some shooting events here and there for demos. That's more than likely were you'll be able to find one and maybe get a chance to man handle one. Plus they're just bad ass.

The M134 is a very capable and versatile weapon system. It can be mounted to just about anything from a fixed position on aircraft to a crew served platform on, helicopters, naval ships and army field vehicles. In addition they have also been sold to private security forces and mounted on SUVs with either remote controls or crew served. The M134 is a six barreled, electrically driven machine gun chambered in 7.62mm NATO and fires at a fixed rate of 3,000 shots per minute. Gatling Guns typically feed from a 3,000 or 4,400 round magazine. With the addition of holo sights, night vision optics and other aiming devices the weapon can be a very accurate and reliable weapon to suppress infantry and take down light aircraft or vehicles. All I know is that I'd like to get my hands on one at a demo and unleash a few thousand rounds at something that will go boom.

There are several cool videos to look at on YouTube and here's just one of them.

Foxy Friday -- Yunjin Kim

Lost is back for it's last season and I couldn't help but think that I should definitely add Yunjin Kim to my ever growing list of Foxy Asian ladies. To be honest I haven't watched lost for a few season so I have NO idea what the hell is going on any more or even if Yunjin(Yoon-jin) Kim is even still on the show but I do know that she is still very much a Foxy Asian.

Yunjin is popular in the States for her roll on Lost as a married lady with a past, but then on Lost who didn't have a past. However, she is even more popular and well known in her home country of South Korea where she has had a much more interesting film career including a nude scene in the movie Milae(Ardor) which I remember hearing about when she started on Lost and people were looking for any thing and everything on her. While there is the nude scene I think she is more widely known for her role in Shiri which I watched early on when I found out she was in it. You can get a few of her movies on Netflix which is good if like her body of work but Milae(Ardor) is not one of them so if you want to check out the nude scene well you'll have to find it on the Internet.

With the end of Lost fast approaching I hoping that Yunjin wont head back to South Korea permanently as I'd like to see her continue pursuing a career in US television. I could hope anyways right. Like Grace Park she needs to do some more hot photo-shoots like she did for Stuff and Maxim back in the early days of Lost.

Check out her video for the Stuff Photo-shoot:

Halo Legends: Prototype

Halo Legends: Prototype is another story that doesn't involve the Spartans, instead this episode focusing on the squad leader known as Ghost and his desire to protect his second squad from sharing the same fate that his first squad suffered. In order to do this Ghost wages a one man fight against an onslaught of Covenant forces until the bitter end.

Ghost and his new squad are tasked with carring out the Cole Protocol during an invasion by the Covenant forces on a planet. Their job is to destroy all navigational data and a Prototype Powered Exoskeleton. The marines are pinned down awaiting extraction. Ghost in defiance of orders suits up in the heavily armed Exoskeleton, while it's self-destruct time counts down, and takes the fight to the Covenant forces by himself.

For a while Ghost is able to fight the Covenant forces off and give them one hell of an ass kicking. This buys his remaining squad mates the time they need to evacuate but unfortunately Ghost soon finds himself over powered, out of ammo and out of time as the count Down time has reached it's end and asks ghost for one last voice command to self-destruct. Ghost looks at the two words and remembers a time long ago when he's caring for one of his fallen squad mates. While they are talking the dying soldier tells Ghost to "be human." Ghost stairs at those two words on the screen and with one last defiant look at the advancing Covenant forces speaks those words "BE HUMAN" setting off a nuclear detonation fulfilling the Cole Protocol.

This was a pretty awesome and enjoyable episode that while it didn't involve the Spartans it did show that everyone must do their part and pay the price to ensure humanities survival. The fights were well done and the story was good and now I only have two more episodes to watch before the DVD comes out. Although AOTS DVDuesday already reviewed the DVD so by that it should be out already so I don't know what's going on but I'm thinking I'll have to check out Wal-mart tomorrow and see if it indeed already come out. How knows maybe it did.

2009 AutoX Videos 4 Sale

It's a new year and the 2010 Autocross season is fast approaching, which means I'm faced with a pretty large problem at the moment. I have, on my YouTube channel, over 800 videos and I need to make room for new videos from this year. The problem of course is how do I make everyone happy while at the same time making it easy to navigate through the videos?

If I add to the already 800 videos currently online I'll end up with a ton of videos that will be hard to navigate through creating a huge mess. The simple solution is to do what I did with the 2008 videos and just delete them without notice or warning. However, that's not nice or a good way to make friends. Another solution would be to edit the videos and combine them into a handfull of longer videos which would take a large amount of time and effort on my part but would serve to both reduce the number of overall videos and keep all the current videos online.

A third and more profitable solution for myself would be to simply sell people the videos of their runs and allow them to upload the videos to their own channels provided that they include a mention of my name. This way they could keep their videos online, I could make some money and it would give me room to add the new videos. I've actually been thinking about that idea for a while now since some people have mentioned wanting to pay me for filming the videos in the first place. Again this is an option that would benefit both groups and potentially raise money to purchase more and better film equipment for myself.

But I'm not sure how it would be received on the forums or what to actually charge for the videos. After all I don't want to look like an ass doing this. Looks like I'll have to run this idea by the other photographers in the area and see what they think. In the mean time what do you think of the following proposal?

Proposal: In order to make room for videos of the 2010 Autocross season I need to thin out the current 2009 autocross videos significantly. While I could just delete them from YouTube forever and not think about it anymore I thought I'd put out an idea that would benefit both of us. Would any of you be interested in purchasing the original source file video of your cars so that you could upload them to your own YouTube channel. Price would be set at $1 each. You would need to provide me with your name, car, number and which videos you would like as well as your preferred method of download or DVD since I don't have a dedicated DDL line I'll need to use something like Rapidshare (I have an account there) or other service. I can do cash or paypal.

I don't know, I'm still thinking about it. and when I get it entirely worked out I'll update this post with the new information. In the mean time how about some autocross footage to remind you how much fun we had this last year so that we can look forward to the fun we'll have this next year.

An interesting side note one of my pictures of this Galant VR-4 was used on Jalopnik for an article which made me happy.

Good Smile Racing's Porsche 911RSR

Oh sweet Jesus they ditched the Z4 and picked up a 911 to enter the 2010 SuperGT series! That's what I noticed when I was looking through Danny Choo's Wonderfestival coverage and I spied a 911 (996 body style) in Good Smile Racing Vinyls. So a bit of researching and looking around the interwebs for more info I found out that Good Smile Racing was teaming up with Cox for this years SuperGT racing season.

Good Smile Racing has opened a new site dedicated to the new team HERE and at the moment it's pretty limited on content and it's also not in English (really you would think they would do that since their GSC webpage is offered in both) so it's a bit of a tough read for me. Not only have they gotten a new car but they have created a new Miku Hatsune character as well (or just given her a new outfit really) and this time instead of being a Race Queen like last year she is looking like a cute Pit Worker holding her airgun ready to change tires. She is called Racing Miku BTW.

Like last year fans will be able to help sponsor the car and while the information is pretty limited on that at the moment it looks like we'll find out more on February 15th so keep an eye out for that. Hopefully it will be open to people outside of Japan as well, without having to go though all the hassle of using a third party provider to do so. ARE YOU LISTENING GOOD SMILE RACING!

For those not in the know about the Porsche 911 GT3 RSR Porsche offers up several racing platforms for the professional racer and while Good Smile Racing is using an older model of the RSR the 996 RSR was a very competitive and winning chassis with a huge track record and history of development. So using the older 996 should give Good Smile Racing and Cox a solid platform to build a good racing strategy around. With that in mind it will allow them to be more competitive in the up coming season of the SuperGT than they have been before. You better believe I'll be looking forward to seeing Good Smile Racing out there competing with the other GT300 cars. The first SuperGT race looks like it'll be happening on March 21 at the Suzuka Circuit.

Halo Legends: Origins Part 2

Well I hadn't thought to look for the second part of Origins or any of the other un-aired episodes of Halo Legends since we finally got our Internet connected to the XBOX and I was able to check out Halo Waypoint only to find out that they weren't airing any more episodes at the moment so I was bummed but knew that the DVD was right around the corner. However, oddly enough a Korean subbed version of some of those un-aired episodes found their way on to YouTube so I decided to check them out.

First up is the second part of the Origins story. We continue with Cortana following up the history of the Forerunners with the history of human's conquest to reach the stars and expand all the while fighting with each other in a constant struggle to be the one in the lead.

In our ever reaching conquest of the stars humanity runs into the Covenant who are on their own conquest. The war between the two united all of humanity as one group to fight for all of humanity against the Covenant onslaught.

During the war between humanity and the Covenant forces an evil from the past comes back and attempts to do what it does best. Soon humanity and the Covenant are no longer fighting each other instead they have to join forces even if it's just for now in order to just survive.

This second part of Origins, even with the crappy YouTube video quality, is just awesome looking. Epic and awesome can't wait to see it in 1080p goodness. There is definitely a lot of interesting stuff going on, lots of stuff we already know how it goes down and a little bit of new stuff as well, like Cortana getting all emotional about the Chief and wondering what the universe has in store for humanity's future. It looks like the DVD will be out next week for purchase so get your wallets ready but mine will have to wait until the weekend when I get paid.

So let see if I can find a good trailer for the second part or something good anyways.

Weekly Review

First of all Congratulations to the New Orleans Saints for winning the 44th Super Bowl. It was a spectacular game last night and good time to hang out and party with the friends which is what we did. But more on that a little bit later. This last week was an interesting one and thankfully it wasn't nearly as bad as I had thought it would be. I don't have any pictures to share this week so it's back to sharing Race Queens to keep you company as you read this blog.

The biggest thing about last week of course was having to serve on Jury Duty. I really thought that that was going to totally kill my week and make me suffer all sorts of horrid things. However, I got lucky. Monday there weren't any case as everything was settled out of court Tuesday they picked perspective jurors 1-44 so I was well in the clear and I was thinking that hey it might not be so bad if the go with 44 jurors a day since I was number 143. Nope, that wasn't the case Wednesday they called jurors 45-149....FFFFUUUUU.

Wednesday I had to leave work early take a shower and get ready to call back at 9:30 and see if I was needed. Called them and they told me court was running late and that they would call back. Well at about 10am they finally called back and told me that the case I was assigned to was settled out of court and that I was done with my juror term of service. That was it a few calls a lucky break and I was done on Wednesday with jury duty. SWEET! So I have to say that the call in jury system that Idaho uses is pretty awesome actually.

The rest of the week meh not so interesting. I did receive some more of my awesome purchases from my tax refund and I'm still awaiting for a few things to show up still but all in all I'm happy with my purchases and once everything (well most everything my Figma Ein is going to take some time getting here) shows up I'll make a post about all of it.

Sunday though was awesome. I cleaned the house and got everything read for the big game and my roommate's Super Bowl Party. he woke up and started cooking up the chili while I ran around cleaning up the place. Everything set up and ready to go we were ready for the big game with friends. I mostly like the commercials but this year I was routing for the Saints and they didn't disappoint. There were some good commercials and some pretty lame ones. Also some repeats as well. If you missed any of them or want to watch them again just check this out.

I was disappointed though in the ZOMG controversial Pro-life commercials as the news media made them out to be more controversial then they actually were. Kind of just ended up being a "what, was that it?" moment. After the game we just hung out for a while chatting until I was falling asleep and I ended up going to bed a bit early completely forgetting to write my weekly review. So here it is now.

Here's a video that I found that you might like it's kinda off the wall Black Lagoon special I believe.

High School of the Dead ANIME!

Yes! While looking around for what's upcoming in the Spring 2010 Anime season I found out that indeed High School of the Dead has finally been green-lit for an Anime adaption. The manga has also been revived from it's year long Hiatus as well. I'm genuinely excited about that as HSotD (official anime page here) is one of my favorite Japanese Manga (it needs to be licensed here so that I can buy it translated...grrr).

If you're not aware of what High School of the Dead is it's your basic zombie horror manga that feature School kids taken on a Zombie army for their survival and what not. That's a very basic plot line of the story. The girls are hot the guns are very well done up and it's just one of those crazy stories that would make a great anime/movie and that's what I thought when I started reading it and now finally I along with everyone else who thought the same thing got our wishes granted. I'll definitely be looking forward to this one when it comes out.

The next chapter of the manga I believe will be out on Mar 9, 2010 no idea when it will be scanlated though but you know I'll be looking for it. UPDATED -- XLG has the scans up look for the last chapter soon...

UPDATE -- New trailer is out for the anime as of TAF2010 ENJOY! I have to say that it does indeed look seriously bad ass and I'm so looking forward to this this in either the summer or fall of 2010.
