Kamen no Maid Guy

Geez that took a while for the last episode to get subbed. Well it doesn't matter I finished up Kamen no Maid Guy yesterday and thought I'd blog about the show. For a 12 episode run this one took forever to finish due to slow subs but hey that's how it goes sometimes I'm just happy that I was able to finish it at least. Although when you do finish watching the last episode you really have to wonder if that's the end since there are still 12o something days left before some coming of inheritance thing is supposed to happen. But I just don't see any one wanting to stick around for another 120 episodes. A second season maybe but I haven't heard anything about that happening yet so I wouldn't hold your breath for that happening.

Kamen no Maid Guy is also known as Masked Maid Guy because the big hulking brute of a Maid (complete with maid dress) wears a mask to cover his face. Think a cross between the Predator alien and the Terminator all rolled into a maid's dress uniform. Kinda scary isn't it. His job, along with the baseball with nails caring, naughty lingerie wearing female maid, is to protect the two children of a Billionaire so that they can one day inherit his vast wealth.

Most of the show revolves around the daily fanservice rich (really rich) troubles of Fujiwara Naeka. If she's not being chased around by the members of the male kendo club/Fujiwara Naeka breast club she is being chased around by a yuri fan girl. All the while she also has to contend with the Masked Maid guy at home and at school who doesn't know the meaning of personal space and is thankfully beaten to a bloody mess by the female maid when he gets to far out of hand. He's sort of like Kenny in that regard because he gets "killed" just about every episode at least once by that female maid.

People always complain about Rosario To Vampire being to ecchi but I really think on a hole Kamen no Maid Guy was a lot worse. The first episode alone gave us straight up nipples in a shower scene and both the female maid and Naeka spend a great deal of time running around in only their bras and panties. Thankfully it wasn't just a tits and ass show there was a good deal of humor and comedic gold in the show as well. Mostly at the expense of Naeka, you also can't get enough of the Masked Maid Guy either, I think he's one of the best characters in the whole show.

Kamen no Maid Guy is definitely a guilty pleasure show it has lots of fanservice enough humor and some sort of reasonable plot to keep the whole thing interesting enough to not be bored out of your mind for 30 minutes at a time. The Japanese DVDs are coming out so I'm sure there will be even more Kamen no Maid guy fanservice coming at you soon enough if you haven't gotten enough already. As a guilty pleasure it's a great rental but then again I don't even know if this will get licensed for North America in the first place so it might be mute point. If you want more Kamen no Maid Guy you can always check out the ongoing manga series as well.

Bamboo Blade

Hey, I took Fencing in college I bet I would totally rock at Kendo....Bhahaha. I got nailed in the nuts twice while fencing with girls so I best be keeping away from Kendo if I ever want to have kids. I'm just that lucky. So the lovely little story is a bit off but after watching Bamboo Blade I'm sure other viewers probably thought that taking up Kendo might be fun. Finished Bamboo Blade a while ago and am now just getting around to writing my review about it.

What is BAMBOO BLADE: Bamboo Blade is a slice-of-life anime centered around a Kendo club at a high school. The goal of the instructer is to form a kendo group made up of girls so that he can beat his friend's (another Kendo instructer) team so that he can get a life time supply of home made Sushi. Turns out he wins and gets one free dinner from the McDonalds of Sushi places. Just one of the many LOL moments of this anime The club is made up of Five very different girls and four boys (two of who only ever make sporadic appearances, and end up causing major issues for the club) During the time the club is together we see each of the individial club members grow into becoming a successfully winning club who face many obstacles along the way.

My Opinion: Bamboo Blade was by far one of the more enjoyable animes of this winter season. When I first heard of the anime I was interested by the end of the first episode I was hooked. It is hard to find something not to like about this anime but the pacing could have been a bit better. If you watched one episode at a time it seemed to lag a little watch a few at a time and that went away. But I couldn't wait to do that so I watched mostly one episode at a time eagerly awaiting the next one. What I liked the most was that it wasn't all Kendo all the time. We got to see outside the box and see the club grow individually as well as a team and the outside world was a lot of laughs which breaks up the drama rather well. But when it got down to the Kendo it was serious business and some good action. Kendo brought the drama and the club brought the laughs. While all the characters were great I enjoyed Tama-chan the best but then I think the majority of the viewers would have said the same thing. It's hard not to really. She's just so dang cute and kick ass it's not even funny. I give Bamboo Blade two hearty thumbs up and would definitely recommend buying and watching this to anyone. I'll be looking forward to a US release.
