Now here is a blast from the past with a new story and some nice HD looks.  Trigun: Badlands Rumble is an updated movie that tells a new story in the life of the devil in a red overcoat with a $$60,000,000,000 bounty on his head. Vash the Stampede is back once again with his odd way of dealing with the badguys and ultimately destroying whatever town or city that he is visiting.

This new story actually takes place both before the TV series and I'm pretty sure some time during the TV series before Wolfwood kicks the ol' bucket.  Central to the story is the city Makka City and it's Governer who was once one of Gasback's partners in crime.  Gasback is returning with Wolfwood in tow to get take his revenge.  Of course since everyone knows that Gasback is on his way there the city is ripe with bounty hunters set on getting the HUGE bounty on Gasback's head.  One of those bounty hunters has unwittingly caught the eye of Vash and he tags along with her to find her story.  Also in the city are the Insurance ladies Meryl and Milly who are there to protect the city's large statue of the Governor.

With all the players finally assembled at the city it's once again chaos and hilarity as Vash battles along side the female Bounty Hunter against Gasback the hordes of other Bounty Hunters and the Governor.  Gasback and his crew steal the power generator and escape with every one else chasing them.  Vash and the female Bounty Hunter catch up to Gasback and Wolfwood resides with Vash as they have a final fight which leaves Gasback totally taken out and with an interesting discovery.  Turns out after defeating Gasback with a special glove it's revealed that the female Bounty Hunter is actually Gasback's daughter and Vash has pulled one of his interesting twists yet again.  All it good and Vash's world continues on.

I left out a ton of stuff actually but what I can tell you is that this is a great little standalone story in the Trigun saga and if you were a fan of the original series than you will really enjoy the movie as it brings you straight back to those characters and story in such a great way that you'll have forgotten that the last time this was on the old [adult swim] it was sometime in 2004 I believe.  The movie takes all of the good stuff and gives it a wonderful upgrade in quality.  I can't wait until this gets an American DVD release.
