Wow, what was started almost two years ago was finally finished last night. After a long long time delay between episode releases I was able to finally finish a fun anime series called Getsumento Heiki Miina.
Brief Summary: What started as a tv show in a tv show/movie Miina was able to break out of Trainboy and go on to have it's own run of 11 episodes. Basicly what we have is a superhero show that has an assortment of young women who change into rabbit/vegitable costumed warriors who defend the planet from invading aliens. Well aliens that invade to disrupt Earth's sports games any ways. They too are rabbits little itty bitty alien rabbits who REALLY like sports.
Our main evil fighting vegi superheros are two lovely news/sports announcers working for Spoluna news. They are Mina Tsukuda (carrot) and Suiren Kōshū (I think it's a beat) together with other rabbit force ladies they carry on their daily life activities before engaging with disruptive aliens looking to interfer with our planet's sports activities while maintaining their normal lives and not allowing their secret identies to become known to others. Their leader is a baby looking pacifier sucking peanut. I kid you not. A larger plot involving another rabbit force member from another planet involves knocking out Suiren Kōshū as the #1 member of the rabbit force. At the end, to save her sempi, Mina revels herself as another Miina and goes on the attack. This causes all the other Miinas to reveal themselves as well to help fight the evil Miina as well. All ends well and we get a nice little ending for a nice fun anime.
My Opinion: I liked this series because it was fun and light hearted and had a good bit of fanservice tossed in for good measure. Why it took so long to get all the episodes is beyound me but I'm glad they finally got released so that I could have some closure. One of the more interesting bits that I liked watching (more than the fanservice...not) was the weapon deployment for miss carrot. It's something that you should see for yourself really but suffice it to say it was like launching a rocket out of a revolver. I also thought it was funny that she hated drinking carrot juice at the beginning. I did not care for that peanut commander though. that was the only bad thing that I can think for for this show. Yeah the aliens were pittiful but atleast it was a funny bit.
Since it's been about two years and I haven't heard anything about it being licensed I guess I can't tell you to rent it on Netflix or buy it when it comes out but if it ever does I would highly recommend this for a good laugh atleast. What I can tell though is that they are starting to release some figures for this show and they look pretty cool and interesting as well.
