Brand whoring among the super cars is big business and not to be out done by Ferrari soon you will be able to smell like a Porsche. Well sorta. This fall it looks like Porsche Design will be releasing male (I'm assuming it's only male anyway) bathe items. There will be Aftershave, cologne, hair and body wash and Deodorant available in stylish blue and black bottles/containers. The product is being branded as The Essence and I've heard that translates as Gasoline in French. Not so good when the actual sent is supposed to have a firm metallic scent with hints of myrtle, Juniper, Siberian Pine, balsim fir, and frankincense. Honestly I can't even begin to think of how that is going to smell.
Porsche Design is noted from creating almost art like collections from home appliances (including the kitchen sink...I'm not kidding you can buy a whole Porsche Design Kitchen now ...OUCH$$$$$) to current generation electronics and clothing / accessories. The biggest draw back to this is that owning something from Porsche Design is almost as expensive as owning an actual Porsche. So I imagine that the price for any of the The Essence product line will be ungodly expensive for what you are getting. Porsche hasn't released any pricing so time will only tell whether or not pouring gas on yourself will be cheaper or even smell better. If they are releasing samples of the product (at a nominal charge) I'd be interested in checking it out before I make my final decision. Of course this also makes Porsche the official biggest brand whore now above Ferrari.
