ABS-CBN Broadcasting Corp. was named Best TV station and winner of 20 other awards in the 15th KBP Golden Dove Awards held Wednesday at the Star Theater in CCP complex.
Angelo Castro Jr., anchor of ABS-CBN News Channel's "The World Tonight," was named Ka Doroy Broadcaster of the Year.
"I share this to the many who helped mold my career," Castro said in his speech.
Other major awards seized by the network include Best TV Newscast for "News Central" of ABS-CBN UHF Channel Studio 23; Best TV Public Affairs Program for "Probe;" Best Radio Station for DZMM; Best Radio Newscast for DZMM's Radio Patrol Balita; and Best AM Radio Station for ABS-CBN provincial station DYAB Cebu.
Mari Kaimo was named Best TV Newscaster; Ted Failon, Best Radio Newscaster; Korina Sanchez, Best TV Public Affairs Program Host; Joey Lina, Best Radio Public Service Program Host; and Winnie Cordero, Best Radio Variety Program Host; and Karen Serra of ABS-CBN provincial station DZAX Davao, Best Radio Field Reporter.
DZMM’s "Bago Yan Ah!" was picked as the Best Science Technology Program; "Little Big Star", Best TV Variety Program; and Going Bulilit, Best TV Comedy Program.
"Maalaala Mo Kaya" episode Regalo won the Best TV Drama Program; "Paano Kita Mapapasalamatan?," Best TV Culture and Arts Program; and "Tribute to George Canseco," Best Television Promo; "Everest Kaya ng Pinoy," Best Radio Promo; and "Flicker," Best TV Public Service Announcement.
