It's rather fitting that I'm blogging about Chinka on April 1. Why you might ask is because several years ago Danny Choo gave his readers an interesting April Fool's prank by mentioning that he was in the process of making an anime of his site's mascot Mirai-chan, every one was excited only to be let down by the news that it was only a prank. One of many good ones to follow. Fast forward to this year and Danny has actually gone and started working on an anime series called Chinka and this time it's no April Fool's prank.
Even though Chinka is about a moe group of girls who ride around fighting fires in their interesting little water truck Mirai-chan will be right along side them as a side character as a cute maid waitress. Danny has a lot of posts up on his site about the progress of the show so those interested in just how anime is made should keep track of those postings by going to to this page of Dannychoo.com Danny actually started his own little anime production company to get the project off the ground. The new company is called Mirai Fusion and is working with HIBUSE to create this one of a kind series about cute girls fighting fires in a rather destructive way. What could possibly go wrong with that. Danny has said that it will not be a fanservice show which is just fine by me, he also said that it would be distributed free by way of an iPhone magazine app no word on if a fansub will be official or not but I'd have to imagine that it most likely would be.
I'm actually all for this it sounds awesome Danny Choo is a cool dude with everything that he's done for the Otaku community so I wish him all the luck in the world that it's asuccesful project and that it goes well to giver him even more chances to do even more anime and other stuff.
