In the year 2077 I'll (hopefully) be a rip old age of 100. In the CGI animated movie Vexille (titled after the main character's name) the year 2077 will have Japan totally cut off from the world and robots and cyborgs will be an every day thing. Vexille is an operative of SWORD some sort of high tech police agency that goes and investigates what is happening in Japan due to the goings on of the largest Robot corp. So no spoilers there pretty much what you can find anywhere else.
So now that I've had a chance to watch it I can tell you that this is definitely an improvement over older CGI animated movies and it looks incrediably good on my computer screen in normal definition. I can't wait to see what it will look like in high def on a larger screen. To bad it will take some time to be released on DVD here. The second Appleseed movie should be being released soon on DVD here so it will be nice to be able to compare the two.
As a whole the movie is good it has a lot of action a good sound track (not GITS great but close) and the CGI is very well done some problems but it doesn't distract from the over all viewing pleasure. The plot is generic robots sacrifice themselves for the survival of human kind so it's pretty predicable in places but then there really isn't anything new in movie ideas anyways.
If you like SCI-FI and sweet graphics it's definitely something that you should checkout when it's out on DVD because I don't think this will be released to theaters.
