It has gone largely unnoticed in non-Korean speaking SNSD fansites, but last month Rhythmer.net hosted a remix competition for amateur DJs to mix SNSD’s Kissing You. The results are now out with 11 winners, and holy smokes are they amazing!
I’ve converted these tracks to mp3 for your listening pleasure. The mixes that I personally recommend are in boldface.
Grand Prize:
1. Skool Rock Mix - Needless to say, this Younha-esque rock arrangement of Kissing You is simply amazing, and it definitely made me ‘rediscover’ Kissing You.
Excellence Prize:
2. Kandi Mix - Very urban, R&B arrangement that I can see working in the U.S. market.
3. Shibuya-Kei Mix
Popular Selections:
4. High 1 Mix - If you’d ever expect to hear SNSD’s song in clubs, this is it. Very groovy and hi-tech.
5. Groovy Candy Mix
6. Otaku Crazy Mix - As the name shows, this mix is just crazy. It makes SNSD’s various voice clips from their TV appearances and other live performances, and the result is dazzling.

9. Sageun Sageun Mix - It makes repeated use of Tae-Yeon’s ’sageun sageun’ part (you will see what I mean when you listen to it). Simply adorable.
