Happy Halloween everyone! May you have a safe and fun night with plenty of treats and few tricks. Halloween is such a fun holiday you get tons of free candy, college girls dress up in the sluttiest little outfits they can find (OK not all of them do but thank god there is enough who do) and people can just have a good time dressed up (or down or in next to nothing at all) and hanging out with friends and family. Have a good day/night and don't let the scary monsters bite you.

Futurama: Bender's Game

The Fourth Futurama direct to DVD film will be released on November 4th. Thanks to my handy dandy time portal (ie the Internet) I just finished watching it. As a long time fan of Futurama I of course have to tell you that this is the best thing since sliced bread. Bender's Game is more of the same antics from or lovable cast of main characters with the villain being Mom and her dimwit boys this time around.

The plot of this film is simple Mom is doing what all good oil companies do and throttling the supply of dark matter, jacking the price of fuel to an all time high. We learn that the professor is the one responsible for making dark matter a viable source of fuel by developing a crystal that reacts to all the dark matter causing it turn into fuel. He also creates an anti-dark matter crystal as well which when joined with the other crystal will destroy each other rendering the dark matter worthless. So they hatch a plan to destroy the crystals in order to make dark matter worthless and destroy mom's control over fuel. All this time Bender has been learning to play Dungeons and Dragons with the kids and ends up going insane believing that his fantasy world is real.

Our merry band of misfits (minus one Bender as he's taking a nice trip to the spa) takes off to destroy the crystals and ends up discovering that mom hasn't been mining dark matter but in fact all the dark matter turns out to be from captured Niblonians who have been caged and force fed chicken to farm dark matter. That's surprise one. In the process of of trying to destroy the crystal something happens and everyone is transported to a real Dungeon and Dragons fantasy land that is also hijacked from the Lord of the Rings Trilogy. Lots of laughs and adventuring latter the final battle for the crystal takes place at Mom's dungeon and we learn of the biggest secret of all and I'm not going to tell you. This time though Mom wins and collects the anti-dark matter crystal sending everyone back to the real world. However back in the real world the good guys still have the crystal and because of the big secret I can't tell you how that all ends but rest assured the good guys win.

I believe while this was better than the second Futurama movie it still isn't nearly as good as the first one was. The intro was pretty standered this time but had a yellow submarine short that followed which was pretty funny. I have this on my Netflix queue at the number one spot so cross your fingers that I get it when it's released (I don't see another dead space release happening actually) but I'm not holding my breath. I just want to see what else is on the DVD because they usually have some good extras on the DVDs. Anyways I also highly recommend you rent or even buy this one if you are even remotely a fan of Futurama. Good stuff.

Dead Space: Downfall

Holly Bloody Hell! Dead Space is a recently released space horror game and in conjunction with the release of the game a direct to DVD animated film and comic book were also released. I was interested in checking out the game and thought that it might be good to see the back story of the game and added Dead Space: Downfall to my rental queue on Netflix. I was really surprised though when the disk showed up on the day of release. That hasn't happened for ages.

So now that I have it and watched it this morning there is one thing I can absolutely assure you as the truth. This is the BLOODIEST gore fest movie I've ever seen. Really I can't think of anything that even comes close to as much blood spilled during an hour plus of movie time. Of course this is also one of the worst animated films I've ever seen too. It's not entirely bad but the animation really looks about 10 years old. It started out pretty good with some decent horror segments but then just degraded into a zombie chaser slash and hack segment that lasted entirely to long. They could have done so much better with a lot less blood more hide and seek horror and just maybe a bit more intelligence and thought. What sucks is they cut out a boss monster moment which would have been so much better than what they replaced it with. They had some good potential and they failed because they went for the lowest common denominator the massive blood letting.

I gave this a two star rating on Netflix and honestly if your not interested in the game this is a huge skip. If you're interested in the game and want to check out the easter eggs for the games and want to know the entire back story and don't want to read the comic book yeah rent the video. I didn't even bother looking for the easter eggs my self I just watched the video watched the one deleted scene wondered why the hell I rented this and promptly returned it the same day to Netflix in hopes of getting something more enjoyable to scrub out the mess that was left over from Dead Space: Downfall.

Lucky Star OVA

Insane, yup I'm insane for watching the OVA before I've even finished the series (waiting on Disk 4 from Netflix) but I just couldn't keep myself from watching the OVA recently. Lucky Star for me was a show that I didn't jump on right away with the fansubs and I thought about doing the same with the OVA but meh here I am.

The OVA is much like the series' regular episodes but at twice the length it contains 6 mini-stories and a live action ending bit (can't think of what the hell to call it at the moment) that is pretty funny. Being as it is Lucky Star there are a good ton of anime references and gag bits stolen from several other anime shows and it's all good and lots of fun and laughs. Some parts were of course funnier than others like I thought the whole Cinderella dream mini-story was the best especially the end when Kagami woke up. I'm not a big fan of MMORP games or reading a ton of text on screen I did however get a good laugh out of that mini-story and will be looking forward to watching that one on DVD the most so I can catch more of what was going on. The lazy dog mini-story was ruined due to a posting on 4chan (yeah I really don't want to see any bestiality doujinshis thanks, nor do I want to even think about them...scrubs brain out) that I read before watching the OVA so we'll just skip that one. The volleyball mini-story was just rather meh for me as well as the lost in the forest mini-story. To be honest though I don't even remember the last mini-story. That brings us to the last bit the live action bit definitely funny and the girl is definitely cute as well. Nice end to a fun OVA.

Hopefully, cross your fingers, this will be released soon here in the states so that I along with everyone else can enjoy the DVD experience and perhaps catch some of the stuff that I missed originally. I don't even have to tell you really that this is a must see show. Rent it, buy it, steal it but probably watch it after you've finished the original series.

Chen Qiao En banned from bringing boyfriend

As Chen Qiao En’s popularity increases, her love life is becoming more and more hidden. Yesterday, during the SETTV press conference for the Golden Bell Awards, she joked and said that earlier she did invite her boyfriend to attend the GBA celebration, but she was worried that he didn’t have any suitable clothes to wear, so gave up this idea. A management worker on the side also added, “We don’t really approve la.”

Yesterday, someone suggested that she should bring a red bag with her or wear red underwear to bring good luck on the day, however Qiao En replied, “I can’t wear red underwear, because I’ve already chosen a special pair of underwear.” So how special is it? She embarrassedly replied, “Because I need to make my figure look better, so it’s… very big underwear.”

To commemorate this event, BoA has thus opened her own Youtube channel! (username: BoAmusicUSA) All BoA fans can feel free to drop by and leave a fan message to our dearest BoA. ^^

In addition, SM clarified today that they will be using both versions of the “Eat You Up” music videos to promote BoA. However, with BoA’s Official site only allowing the Korean version to watch, it seems that Cha Eun Taek’s version will be used the most for promotion purposes.

Male Artist Group SHINee was ‘lead by the hand’ by the same person who was in charge of the choreography for famous american popstar, Justin Timberlake.

While making preparations for SHINee’s 1st Album Repacked Edition , SHINee received guidance from American Choreographer Misha Gabriel.

Misha Gabriel is the talented individual who was put in charge of the choreography for singers like
American Pop Stars like Justin Timberlake and Hilary Duff.
Misha became known to korean fans when BoA* announced on the 22nd of her aim for the US music market with her debut single –as the main Choreographer. Misha also appears in BoA*’s MV, showcasing his brilliant dancing skills.

SHINee’s leader Onew, “Postponed the promotion of SHINee’s first album and received guidance from Misha Gabriel for 2 weeks”. To korean choreography instructers, Misha gave other methods of expressing emotion in dance. They claimed it was a whole different experience.

While Misha was preparing for BoA’s US debut, it seemed by fate that he became SHINee’s dance instructor. After watching SHINee’s past released music videos, “Love Like Oxygen” and “Nuna You’re so Pretty”, Misha has choreographed the dance moves to SHINee’s ‘Amigo’ to attract just as much attention.

Bleach: Memories of Nobody

Sniffle sniffle there are few shows that make me really want to burst out in tears but the ending of the first Bleach movie had me choked up pretty good. I think a good part of that is due to my mother's recent passing and those feelings and emotions flooding in while watching the ending of the movie. Because I don't think I got that choked up the first time I saw this movie when it was first fansubbed.

In any case you're not here to read about my emotional state of mind. No I imagine you're here to read about the movie Bleach: Memories of Nobody. The good news is that yes finally after what two years or so the first Bleach movie is out on DVD here in the states and is easily attained from Netflix (at least it was for me, your experience may vary). I only got disk one so I don't know what is on the second disk. If you're into Bleach and not a snob who doesn't watch anything outside the manga plotline than you'll enjoy this movie even though it'll feel like an extra long filler episode. Thankfully though it's pacing is fast enough to keep the viewer ingaged at all times. For people who haven't taken the Bleach pill this movie is a good way of checking out what Bleach is about.

What I though sucked the most is that they added such an adorable interesting character Senna into the mix and then killed her off at the end. Such a horrible fate for such a cute character. The bad guys though were pretty forgettable, as bad guys go in bleach they sucked something bad alright dying off within minutes of starting a fight, but that's thanks to them being in just a movie. Ah the fate of a movie time line bad guy. Honestly though sometimes I wish the anime series bad guys would die off that fast...well at least some of them. As far as the plot goes it was pretty decent. Not the most original by any means as it's a bad guys want to destroy stuff in this case Soul Society and the real world for their lame revenge motifs (they were kicked out of soul society boohoo) but are thankfully and easily defeated by the good guys.

With all of that and a red ribbon too I do have to say that Memories of Nobody is worth a rental if you are even remotely interested in Bleach or just a good anime movie. It just sucks that it had to take that long to be released on DVD (it was released to limited theaters for a limited time...2 days in the middle of the week in the middle of June) to I'm sure coincide with the TV series release schedule as well. So that means it's going to be one hell of a long ass wait for the second movie to be released on DVD as well. Oh well that's what fansubs are for hahaha.

For some who’ve been following the period drama starring Song Ilgook, you might’ve heard this ballad playing somewhere.

Kwon Sang-woo drops film, upsetting production crew

Newly wedded Kwon Sang-woo (Fate, Bad Love) has dropped out at the last minute of what would have been his next film project, My Love By My Side, and criticism is building.

Apparently Kwon had made every commitment to appear in the project save for putting his seal on the contract (which often doesn’t happen until the last minute). The film, which was set to begin filming next month, now struggles in the wake of this unforeseen hurdle. The production company said that they received word suddenly over the weekend, after the terms of the contract, fees, and other details had been worked out: “He didn’t even explain his reasons for quitting. We’re all bewildered.”

Kwon Sang-woo was to have played a sufferer of Lou Gehrig’s disease, also known as ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, a degenerative illness), and had been cast opposite Ha Ji-won, who is still cast in the film. He held a fanmeeting in Japan just yesterday, on the 25th, where he announced, “Contrary to reports, my next project will be a drama series.”

The production is currently looking for a new lead actor.

Joe Cheng has promotional tour while Aaron Yan sits on the bench

PLEASE DO NOT REPOST WITHOUT PERMISSION. THANK YOU SO MUCH.

Joe Cheng has promotional tour while Aaron Yan sits on the bench
[Xiao Zhong] Zheng Yuan Chang and Aaron Yan come into an unavoidable confrontation; GTV is suffering from the clash between their 2 male leads of its own idol series. Clashing on the premiere location and the date, Zheng Yuan Chang gets the privileges and [Love or Bread]’s events will kick off as planned. Aaron Yan automatically takes a step back, nobody will promote [PiLi Mit], can only rely on its own!

Xiao Zhong and Lin Yi Chen promoting around Taiwan
Last time, both Zheng Yuan Chang and Aaron Yan have take part in the filming of [They Kiss Again] and next month they will be promoting against each other, Xiao Zhong’s series [Love or Bread] is going against Aaron Yan’s [PiLi MIT] because both series are from GTV and are about to air, so just by arranging for the promotional events and artists’ schedules are enough to make GTV to have a big headache about it.

Xiao Zhong who has just finished filming [Love or Bread], has attended his own sister’s engagement party yesterday and then later he will be going to have rehearsal for his stage play. As for Lin Yi Chen, she is going to film another new series [Skip Beat] starting in November, so she won’t have much time to do promotions either. Since GTV is highly concern about this series so they still arrange the both of them to have 8 signing sessions all around Taiwan and attending 7 to 8 entertainment shows.

The cast of PiLi MIT don’t have many promotional events
While [PiLi MIT] as Aaron Yan’s first series as the leading male, it’s going to be aired on every Friday on FTV. Other than the premiere, the cast will be in GTV’s [100% Entertainment Show], STARTV [Wo Ai He Se Hui] and FTV [United Nation]. Their promotional events are not many and even though Aaron Yan is busy doing preparation for [Fahrenheit]’s concert but he still tries to arrange his time to cooperate with the promotions, trying to support the promotions on his own.

GTV: Aaron Yan has in store something good at the end
About the privileges between these 2 series, GTV said they are not favoring Xiao Zhong. Originally they were planning to move forward the premiere date for [Love or Bread] but because the location is not available during that time so they will have to move [PiLi MIT] instead. Later [PiLi MIT] will still have Christine Fan as the house tutor and Aaron Yan’s bicycle ride event; the fans still have the chance to have close interaction with their idol.

Korean Music Concerts Cancelled Due to Financial Constraints

DBSK, Super Junior Happy, JunJin and Min Kyung Hoon were scheduled to perform at Super Concert on Saturday but the sudden cancellation of the event just a day before left fans stunned! It was not just the Korean fans who were left disappointed, hundreds of overseas fans from Taiwan for example had already bought their air tickets, applied for leave and were already in Seoul. But they never would have thought that the concert would become a non-event.

Super Concert was scheduled to take place at the Bucheon Stadium on the 25th. But on the afternoon of 24th, a notice came out saying that it was cancelled. This was followed by a representative of S.M FanClub posting a notice on the website to say sorry and expressed that because the organizers failed to adhere to stipulations stated on the contract, so they had no choice but to pull DBSK and Super Junior Happy away. They sincerely apologize to all the fans who have been anticipating and waiting to see the concert.

According to sources, the main reason for the Super Concert cancellation was because the sponsors ran into some financial problems and couldn’t pay up the appearance fees for the performers. Up till the day before the concert, the performers had no choice but to pull out after not receiving any payment. The performers no-show also meant that the concert had to be cancelled.

Korean entertainment companies who are already suffering severe cashflow problems because of the rapidly shrinking music industry in Korea, has been hit even harder by the economic crisis currrently affecting the world.

The MBC Big Music Fiesta in Ulsan scheduled for 11th October earlier this month was also cancelled because of the same reason. This is the second time that Super Concert has been cancelled, causing some inconveniences to fans. Refunds and complaints lodged with the organizers are still unresolved.

Super-Popular Drama Full House Invites One of the Members of F4 To Participate In Sequel
Date: October 26, 2008
News Source: Yahoo! Taiwan, http://asianfanatics.net/forum/
Translation Credit: tammiest @ http://asianfanatics.net/

A sequel to the super-popular Korean drama Full House is currently in the works; it will be a joint production by the Chinese, Japanese, and the Koreans. A few days ago, the production company revealed that they would choose either Rain (Bi) or Song HyeKyo to continue on as the main lead for the sequel. They also hope to invite one of the members of the red-hot Asian superstar boyband F4 to take part.

Full House is adapted from a Korean manhwa of the same name; the 2004 drama adaptation made main leads Rain (Bi) and Song HyeKyo into “household names” all over Asia. Rain has even said in the past that the success of Full House was a crucial part of his own launch and success in Asia.

Full House’s production company explained that they had actually begun preparing for a sequel two years ago; thus far, four episodes or so of the script have been completed (written). If all goes smoothly and according to plan, the sequel will begin airing in Korea in August of next year.

—–

Translator’s Comments: It’s extremely important to take this news with a grain of salt. First off, whichever member of F4 it is… HASN’T agreed yet. Secondly, it will most likely be a guest appearance… say, for one or two episodes. It seems pretty unlikely that they’d ask him to be one of the main stars.

And yes, the article/production staff implied that ONLY one of EITHER Rain or Song HyeKyo would be the main lead.

Does that mean they won’t be reunited on-screen? Possibly. Or maybe one of them will just be a lot more “important” and central to the plot? Hope so… I can see a lot of fans getting upset otherwise…

OUCH! What a pitiful slow week with nothing exciting to blog about. Slept though the autocross on Sunday didn't really do anything at all on my days off except for sleep, eat and clean the house up a bit. Went back and donated some more plasma this week and had a lovely time doing that...not. This week kinda sucked for donating plasma actually, the first time I got poked really hard and the needle kept rubbing on the vain's wall everytime the machine would stop and start which made it hurt like never before. Then the second time while it didn't hurt nearly as much I didn't stop completely bleeding for some time (like 12 hours later) for what ever reason. Did get a nice chance to gross out the roommate though. So that was a bloody mess.

The one good redeeming moment of this week is that I found and purchased Blavod (black vodka) I've been hunting for this Vodka for a few years and while there was one place in town getting it it all went to some restaurant and the owner wouldn't let me buy one of his bottles without paying an arm and leg for it. Anyways it finally showed up at the liquor store minus the greedy owner so I had to get it. Straight up it's OK, I've had better. Mixed it's great but you have to be careful what you mix it with. A screwdriver is great until it looks you just puked your guts up into your glass. Don't mix it with OJ OK!

Here's a stupid story for you I decided to visit the local hobby store to see if they had gotten in anything cool and while they did get a few more Gundam and Deathnote things in there wasn't anything of interest to me there. So I though oh what the heck lets check out the liquor store. Now the liquor store and the hobby store used to be at complete opposite ends of the stripmall and as I was feeling lazy and didn't want to walk. Well what I didn't know is that liquor store moved...next door to the hobby store. I noticed this as I was in the car pulling out of the parking lot. Felt so stupid.

This week I also decided to join the local anime club. They don't have another meeting until the 1st of Nov so I can't report on that until next week but hopefully it'll be fun and something different to do on Saturday nights when I'm bored and don't have anything else to do.

Only one more week before we get to vote for the next president and only a few more until the end of the year. Still trying to think of something cool to add to the blog site for the next year and maybe some more photography and video stuff as well. Mmmm looks like I need to rewrite some goals.

Blassreiter

A great way to finish any good anime is to absolutely kill every last mother... at the end, take no prisoners everybody must go. Well save for one or two cast members who will live on to fight another day. And that's exactly how Blassreiter ends with just about everyone dead at the end save for one lady and her adopted brother. The good thing about this show is you don't have to feel guilty about watching it on youtube as this was another in the short list of official company youtube shows that have been popping up lately. It was also available on crunchyroll which I just barely signed up for to watch videos there (in case I forget to bring my videos with me) since they currently have more legal anime shows to watch as well.

The good thing about watching anime on youtube and Crunchyroll besides that it's legal, free and guilt free is that it's released at the same time so no waiting months or years to legally watch some good anime. I definitely hope more companies take this approach to releasing new anime shows. Now if the DVD releases would keep up as well that would be pretty handy as well but currently they are not. I mean I still haven't heard a word about getting Tower of Druaga DVDs in North America.

Back to the actual anime show well to be honest this wasn't the most stellar or anime shows this year. It's kind of interesting half way though not only did the plot change but the fanservice changed as well. It went from a butt fanservice show to a Boobs fanservice show. Kinda funny actually if you think about it but hey it Gonzo after all. It wasn't just the fanservice change that helped out the second part of the series but for some reason it seemed like there was a different team behind the show as the entire plot and action went up a notch as well. It was like an entirely different show.

The first part revolved around a moto racer who gets infected by a disease that turns humans into these crazy looking CGI monsters called Amalgams who like nothing better than to run around killing things. Chasing after him is a group of special police officers called Xat. One after another the members of Xat (minus the hot chick of course) are also turned into amalgams as well. The leader of Xat gets a bonus of getting to nail the other hot chick (the one behind the scenes helping to make even more amalgams) so with the destruction of Xat and almost all of its members the second part of the story starts.

The second part is the kick ass part lots more interesting things happen and a much better flushed out plot takes place. So the former leader of Xat is now the general of a bunch of amalgam solders who go crazy attacking things and heading for a show down with the Church. We also get a lot more of the back story and why we should even care about any of this in the first place. Turns out the Church was trying to develop a nanomachine that could cure people's ailments instead it creates the amalgams out of dead humans go figure. In any case the killing of more people happens and at the end just about everyone is dead the problem is solved and the anime was able to take a couple potshot at the US as well.

As far as I'm concerned it was only a good show it definitely wasn't great but then it wasn't horrible either. The CGI was OK the fights were pretty awesome especially for the last half but the fact that almost every one had to die is a pretty lame plot device I think. If you can make it through the first half you're golden. Or just skip that part entirely if you want to. What ever the case check it out on youtube or crunchyroll for free and if it ever does get a DVD release here in the states it might be worth renting as well. Some people in comments left on youtube are asking about a second season and I for one hope there won't be another one.

Kamen no Maid Guy

Geez that took a while for the last episode to get subbed. Well it doesn't matter I finished up Kamen no Maid Guy yesterday and thought I'd blog about the show. For a 12 episode run this one took forever to finish due to slow subs but hey that's how it goes sometimes I'm just happy that I was able to finish it at least. Although when you do finish watching the last episode you really have to wonder if that's the end since there are still 12o something days left before some coming of inheritance thing is supposed to happen. But I just don't see any one wanting to stick around for another 120 episodes. A second season maybe but I haven't heard anything about that happening yet so I wouldn't hold your breath for that happening.

Kamen no Maid Guy is also known as Masked Maid Guy because the big hulking brute of a Maid (complete with maid dress) wears a mask to cover his face. Think a cross between the Predator alien and the Terminator all rolled into a maid's dress uniform. Kinda scary isn't it. His job, along with the baseball with nails caring, naughty lingerie wearing female maid, is to protect the two children of a Billionaire so that they can one day inherit his vast wealth.

Most of the show revolves around the daily fanservice rich (really rich) troubles of Fujiwara Naeka. If she's not being chased around by the members of the male kendo club/Fujiwara Naeka breast club she is being chased around by a yuri fan girl. All the while she also has to contend with the Masked Maid guy at home and at school who doesn't know the meaning of personal space and is thankfully beaten to a bloody mess by the female maid when he gets to far out of hand. He's sort of like Kenny in that regard because he gets "killed" just about every episode at least once by that female maid.

People always complain about Rosario To Vampire being to ecchi but I really think on a hole Kamen no Maid Guy was a lot worse. The first episode alone gave us straight up nipples in a shower scene and both the female maid and Naeka spend a great deal of time running around in only their bras and panties. Thankfully it wasn't just a tits and ass show there was a good deal of humor and comedic gold in the show as well. Mostly at the expense of Naeka, you also can't get enough of the Masked Maid Guy either, I think he's one of the best characters in the whole show.

Kamen no Maid Guy is definitely a guilty pleasure show it has lots of fanservice enough humor and some sort of reasonable plot to keep the whole thing interesting enough to not be bored out of your mind for 30 minutes at a time. The Japanese DVDs are coming out so I'm sure there will be even more Kamen no Maid guy fanservice coming at you soon enough if you haven't gotten enough already. As a guilty pleasure it's a great rental but then again I don't even know if this will get licensed for North America in the first place so it might be mute point. If you want more Kamen no Maid Guy you can always check out the ongoing manga series as well.

INGS Race Queen air freshener

Well holy freaking crap. Remember that dashboard lil' itty bitty race queen figure that I found out at one of the autocross events way back in the beginning of the summer and how I was looking for her but never found her? Anyways I was cruising eBay looking for something cool and decided to do a search for race queen stuff and low and behold what should be one of the many many links but that lil' race queen. Then I figured out why I couldn't find her earlier. I was searching for figures but she's actually a freaking air freshener. Yeah that's what I thought as well. Turns out she's an INGS (Nissan race parts) Race Queen Air Freshener made for GALSParadise (the same people who put out the Race Queen guides and other Japanese girly mags) and can be found at just about any Import tunershop webpage for an unsightly price of $15 (or more) + shipping. I did find that if you bought INGS products from one place that they would include the lil' race queen for free but then you are spending some serious dough for car parts to get her.

So now that I've found her, and have been looking around to find the best deal, am I going to order one to have a lil' race queen sitting on my dash to freshen up my car? Probably not, I mean it's $20 for a freaking air freshener and she's not nearly as cute now that I've seen an up close image of her. There are a lot more interesting and much better quality race queen figures out there to be had but they are more than 3x the money as well. It would be funny to get her and hog tie her to the Tein umbrella so that I can say that I have a RQ holding my umbrella but then I think I'd be the only one to find that funny. Maybe I'll ask Santa for one, it is getting close to Christmas after all (they already have Christmas stuff up already at Walmart).

Pretty quite week this week. Those are always nice weeks too. So this week I watched some reloading videos on youtube and started fiddling with my reloading stuff but didn't go any further than cleaning some brass and decapping the casings. That's a pretty easy and safe thing to start with that wont result in anything getting blown up later. I'll call my uncle this week to see about going over on the weekend to check out the new hides from Africa and finishing up learning to reload. In other hunting/shooting news I some how came across a program on CMT (something I almost never watch) that was so disturbing and just out there that I just couldn't stop laughing.

There is an actual program on CMT that is called My Big Redneck Wedding. And I shit you not they actually had a brother and sister (adopted but still that's just messed up) getting married. In any case it was so messed up that the mom was telling her daughter how to use protection and it involved a Ziploc bag and ribbon...WTF use your own imagination on how that one worked. The mother also hated the wedding dress but honestly if there was anything that was good about their wedding it was the dress. Sounds weird I know but I thought it was a cute dress...yeah and uh guns and big mudding trucks...yeah uh what was that about a dress... just joking of course a redneck wedding just isn't complete without guns and explosions and naked muddy people I guess. Which this episode had lots of including an alter of shotgun shells for that shotgun wedding feeling. If you want to you can actually watch the episode at the website it's the first episode (Anna and Bo) of the second season (this wasn't the first season O.o) and you can laugh your silly ass off about it too.

On to a much more normal TV watching experience I also happened to finally fine the first episode of Michiko to Hatchin so here is my fall 08 anime impression part 2.5.
Michiko to Hatchin: Wow manglobe gives us an awesome looking anime with a bit of Cowboy Bepop like wild west feel to it. Michiko "busts" her way out of jail and goes looking for Hana the blonde haired mistreated orphan and sidekick for this story. Most of the episode is about how Hana is mistreated by her adoptive family so that by the time Michiko does arrive to rescue Hana you REALLy want Michiko to bust a cap in the whole damn family before she leaves. Anyways this looks like it might just one of the better shows of the season at least the production values are there.

The only other things that happened this week is that I finally got my Oct issue of Megami Magazine featuring the lovely anime goddess Yoko from Gurren Lagann. Awesome issue and I was lucky to get it without having to pay an arm and leg to get it. So that was the last package to arrive from my little spending spree a while ago. I've only ordered one other thing recently and that with shipping was only $6 and it's a Porsche OEM Motorsports DVD. Hopefully it's the real deal and not someones burned copy or something but it's much better than paying $50 for a Porsche OEM DVD at least. That's pretty much it for this week. So until next week stay safe and be happy or some such thing or another.

Fall 08 Anime Impression part 2

Now continuing where I left off last time with my first impressions of the new anime shows for the fall 08 season. I'll also highlight real fast some of the stuff that I'm still watching from previous seasons and looking at what I'm still waiting for to be released this season.

Linebarrels of Iron: Another anime that I might drop depending on how good it gets. My major problem with this show is the horrid animemation style. The CGI mecha fights look awesome but WTF happened to the rest of of the animation it looks so poorly done. That and the kid is a total freaking douchebag. "I want to be the fist of Justice" well that's all fine and dandy until you DESTROY the entire city doing it ya retard.

Rosario + Vampire Capu 2: Oh yes the best guilty pleasure of last year is back with more pantsu fanservice than you can shake a well lol you know what I mean. It's more of the same a little bit funnier and now we have an extra harem member Moka's lil' sister. This should be fun, well minus the stupid bat coverups anyways.

Shikabane Hime Aka: Now this looks like another promising horror mystery show complete with an undead twin SMG wielding school girl who takes on other undead creatures. Another fantastic show from Gainax.

Toradora: Yet another school slice of life show but this one's a bit different then the others. Not only does it have a hot hostess MILF (ie lite fanservice moments) but the main girl lead is a tiny lil' firecracker who dishes out some serious beat downs (mostly to the main male lead) yet it's just incredibly funny at the same time.

Yozakura Quartet: Last on the list for now of new shows is this magical mystery action show. So far it's looking pretty good but there definitely seems to be more than just 4 members of the gang helping out to protect the city from dangerous demons. It'll be interesting to see how it progresses that's for sure.

So I've definitely added more shows to my list than I initially thought I would when I got the announcement of new shows picture list. What's still missing though is Michiko to Hatchin. I heard it was forecoming so hopefully I'll be able to get it soon. As for the stuff that I'm still watching it's Real Dive, Maid guy, Allison to Lilia, Candy Boy, Blade of the Immortal (ha got the name right this time) and crap I don't have my information in front of me so I can't think of the others off the top of my head. Anyways the fall season definitely looks like it will be an interesting season chuck full of goodness to keep me busy for a good while.

Fall 08 Anime Impressions part 1

The Fall season of anime shows is now in full swing and after watching a good handful of shows I think I bit off more than I could chew because I'm still missing a couple of the ones that I want to see and I've watched 11 NEW shows along with all the currently running shows. That's a lot of anime to keep track of. While I might drop some shows this season *cough* linebarrels *cough* there is still a bunch of good shows and a handful of really great shows. So here are my first impressions of the shows that I've at least seen one episode to already for the fall season.

Chaos Head: Seen a lot of game related stuff posted on 4chan so thought I'd check this out. So far it has a nice touch of fanservice, neet craziness and bloody murder but holy freaking hell I hate reading text subtitles (subtitles for text that you see on the screen for example the long ass chat conversation on the computer) and it looks like this will be chuck full it. So far though it seems worth having to deal with that. Time will tell.

Ga-Rei Zero: HOLY SHIT! This show turned into the must see anime show of the season. Read anyone's blog and you'll see why. Epic WTF ending for the first episode and the awesome continues on in the second episode. Well animated, great music and GORE a plenty. Hopefully the plot so far won't be the only plot otherwise it might get mundane and boring.

Hyakko: I wasn't sure about this one going in and the first episode didn't really sell it but the second episode nailed it and has me interested in this school girl slice of life anime. It's funny and smart and you don't have to be afraid to show this to your friends.

Kannagi: Nothing like ending up having your wood carving art project turn into a cute lil' moe goddess complete with split personalities. This is definitely so far one of the better LOL shows of the season. I don't know if that's what it's shooting for but the show makes me laugh a lot and I think that's a good thing.

Kemeko DX: This one however you might not want to show to your friends if they don't like sexual humor and a healthy dose of fanservice. This might be one that gets dropped though. It's a bit to much humor and not enough plot. I don't know I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Kurozuka: Hey another immortal samurai type dude and hot chick combo show. While only slightly like Immortal Blade the roles are reversed and both parties are immortal. Only one episode has been out so far but I do know she likes them bloody and raw and the guy does a pretty decent job hacking and slashing. In any case I'm keeping my eye open for this.

With 6 shows down this is a good place to stop for now. Let you soak it all in, visit some sites and if you haven't checked them out already I'd urge you to if you can. Funny thing about Kannagi for only having two episodes out it has a TON of fanart out already. Lots of it being NOT SAFE FOR WORK by the way.

YG Entertainment Will Unleash Female Big Bang in 2009

I’m sorry I was away for a long time. ^^ This week is my final exam week so I’m super busy with the exams and finishing all my school requirements. But I will be visiting this site from time to time. So right now, I’m gonna catch up with all of you.

YG Entertainment is preparing to reveal their new female group next year. It was announced yesterday, “After Swi.t, YG Entertainment’s new female group will debut in February next year.” The group will consist of the company’s Park Bom, CL, Gong Min Ji and Sandara Park. The group was hailed as the ‘female Big Bang’ by fans after news about the group was announced earlier.

Yang Hyun Seok also said, “The final decision is that they will debut next February after sorting out the various preparations for their debut. This new female group will consist of at least 4 member, if not 5, though we have not come to a final decision on that yet. But we are confident that they will be a strong group which will display a different type of charisma for fans.”

Originally supposed to be debuting this Summer, YG Entertainment probably felt that more preparation work had to be done. With the remaining 2008 full of heavyweight comebacks, it’s probably a wise choice to debut next year instead. Coincidentally, one female group will leave for America in the same month.

I’m so happy Sandara will be part of it. I will be looking forward to this. For the girl groups, I am active in SNSD and Wonder Girls right now. Gosh. I will be busy with a new one next year. ^^

Genshiken 1st season

Finally got around to watching the first season of Genshiken and the three episodes of Kujibiki Unbalance that are also included on the DVDs. While I watched the first season way after I watched the second season (it wasn't available on DVD at the time) I don't feel bad about doing that as they are seperate stories. The second season had a strong plot line (the making and selling of a dojinshi) while the first season more along the lines of flowed freely without any main goal in mind or real plot. Both where very funny as they explored the lives of a few otaku friends in their daily routines.

If you want a good slice of life show to watch that is full of laughs and good times then Genshiken is definitely a show you will enjoy. There isn't any thing to not like about the first season as any fan of anime and even the non fans will find something to relate to, enjoy and even laugh at even it it's at their own expense. That's what makes this show so great it laughs at its self and yet at the same time gives you a touching story of how a group of people come together and form a deep bond of friendship even to the point that the non-otaku even enjoys hanging out with the people even if she protests to much about liking it. If you haven't seen it yet I'd highly suggest renting this from netflix sitting down and laughing your butt off, heck it beats a lot of the crap that is on TV now anyways. Now I just need to get the Kujibiki Unblanced DVDs from netflix as well to watch the three OVAs of Genshiken as well now. Once I do that I'll also review the three extra episodes of Kujibiki Unbalanced that were included with the Genshiken DVDs.
Interesting thing about the show and it's fanservice. You would think that a show about guy otakus would have a TON of ecchi fanservice in it. However, in reality the show had very little fanservice but wholy hell you go looking on image boards for Genshiken pictures and wow it's just crazy. Ecchi goodness every where you looked, which made it hard to find a nice clean suitable image to post.

Silver Sage Porsche Club of America car show

With a short stop over at a coffee shop to warm up and fuel up it was off to the second car show of the day. Just down the street from the Italian Car and Motorcycle show on the same day the Silver Sage Porsche Club of America was holding their own car show. Porsche drivers thankfully are not afraid of the weather and several more Porsche cars showed up, mostly of the 911 variation with a few 356s and one 968. Apparently the Ferrari owners got bored and since the Italian car show ended before the Porsche car show started they also joined the Porsche car show as well. An extra Ferrari 328GTS showed up as well. While there wasn't anything super exiting at the car show it was nice to see a large outpouring of Porsches but dang it I know there are a lot more porsches in the area as I've seen different ones in the city including a couple RUF cars as well.

Someone needs to get on the ball and advertise a lot more to get more cars to show up to this event. Who cares if they're not a member of the SSPCA I want to see more pretty Porsches and more unique ones as well. Maybe they should move their show up to September as well and advertise on Porsche forums to get some more interest in this show. Maybe get a bigger venue as well.

Moving onto the cars. Like I said there was one 968 a few nice looking 356s and many variants of the 911 bodies. The latest of course was the dealership demo a nice dark green 2009 997 with the new PDK transmission the driver said it was sluggish but he is the ONLY person I've ever heard say that. Anyways it could be yours for only $99k. That was the only 997 though. Which sucks because I know there is a lot more of them running around Boise. Then there were a few 996 Turbos the rest were a smattering of 993, 964 and actual 911s. Also since they are really not 911s there were also a couple 912s. I'm such an idiot though as I forgot that there were some Boxsters and Caymans as well. I don't know how I could since one of the Caymans there was in the dark maroon red color that I love. Such a lovely color but looks much better on a 911.

With that I believe we are done with local car shows for the year. There are still two autocross events so there still might be more Porsche content posted this year and maybe I'll have to do some of my own promotion for these car shows to get some more interesting things to attend them. Anyways I didn't take a whole lot of pictures but what I did can be seen here on Flickr.
Ok there are a few times when I'll open my mouth and insert foot and this might be one of those times. After posting this I thought I would go see if SSPCA had a webpage and indeed they do so I was reading their page and found out information that probably would have been helpful to this post. While I may have gotten some facts wrong I still stand by what I said so maybe they should just add an additional car show were nonmembers can come too.

Italian Car and Motorcycle Show

Italian cars are an interesting bunch. You have you're supercars like Ferrari, Lamorghini, Maserati and Pagani and then you have budget cars like Fiat, Alfa Romera and Lancia along with I'm sure some other ones but in any case once a year in the middle of October here in Boise, ID owners of these types of cars meet up along with Italian bike owners for a car show. This year it was held on Oct 11 at a church parking lot.

Unfortunately due to a wayword crazy snow storm on the previous day and forecasted rain and a cold ass wind during the show the turn out this year for the show was rather small. All of 5 cars showed up and two Vespa Scooters. In attendance at the show was a Maserati/Chrysler thing a lovely Ferrari 250 GTE a run of the mill Ferrari 348TS an interesting Lancia with a moose/Ferrari hybrid crest and last but least a trailer towing Fiat X19. I really like the older 25oGTE as that is a classic Ferrari something other than those crazy red rockets most people go crazy about. Not that I don't like those crazy red rockets it's just if you got them together the 250GTE has more class and character. Funny thing is that I found out that the owner is the guy who races the lil' yellow radical at the autocross events and I was pretty shocked.

So with that the show was pretty much a bust honestly but you really can't blame anyone but the crappy weather and the organizers are thinking of moving the show to the end of September when it's still a bit nicer outside and relocating to a new Italian Restaurant closer to Boise. Hopefully that will gather more interest and more cars for next years show. You can find all of the pictures on flickr they are located at the end.

Just a day early but that's OK. I'm at work on a day I really shouldn't be but that only means more time for you guys right. Well that and some extra money so that works. Anyways have lots to talk about for this week.

Like for instance we just skipped right over fall and went straight to winter because it snowed here pretty good on Friday (a record for first snow fall) and while the snow is gone in the Valley the snow is sticking around up in the hills. Bogus Basin actually received 5.5 inches of snow so I know the skibums are just biting at the bits to get up there soon to ski and snowboard. Me I could personally do with out the snow but hey I live in Idaho so that's just what I get.

Also means that the window A/C units had to come in because it's getting cold and drafty with them still in the window the first one came out easy enough without any problems the second one not so much. Roommate got bonked on the head pretty good by a wayward plank of plywood. Sorry Scott.

Earlier in the day the roommate and I went out to Eagle to check out the last of the car shows for the year. Thanks to the gloomy weather the Italian car and Motorcycle show was pretty much a bust as only a handful of cars showed up. Next year it's going to be held earlier like the last weekend of September so hopefully that will spell better weather. The second car show of the day was just down the block and it was a much better turn out. That one was the Silver Sage Porsche Club of America car show for Porsches of all types even though it was pretty much 911 heaven a few 356s and a 968 were there as well. Look for a complete write up of those car shows tomorrow.

I'll also have to do a write up of all the new shows I'm watching as many of the fall anime shows have finally aired and been subbed for my enjoyment so I'll have to tell you what I'm watching and what I think about this new batch of shows. Thankfully that seems like about it for the week a lot of fun looking at cars watching anime and meeting new people and a wee bit of winter to keep things interesting. I can tell you this much I really hate coming in days off even though I like the money I'm seriously tired as hell at the moment. Time for a power nap in the back geez.

Race Queen sold separately. Ok all joking aside I did finally get an umbrella to shade my self while filming autocross events and other outdoor events. I originally wanted to get a Japanese Super GT company umbrella but after several months looking and not finding one that I really liked and also discovering that the ones that I could get were seriously expensive after shipping and everything I found and purchased one from Tein here in the states.

As you can see in the picture I picked up an umbrella and T-shirt from Tein a Japanese company that sells various suspension parts for cars. As I drive a POS Chevy Lumina none of their parts are usable on my car (They only make parts for Japanese manufactured cars) but they seem to from what I've read and seen offer some pretty sweet products at reasonable prices. So if you're interested in tuning your Japaneses car you might want to check out Tein they're especially great if you like green.

Now that I have the umbrella I still have to figure out a way to rig it up so that I can have a free standing system for the umbrella (seeing as how I don't have a Race Queen) so that I don't have to hold onto it myself and so that it doesn't interfere with the filming process. I already have an idea in mind but I have to find a good way of holding the umbrella and being able to move it around easily when the sun moves. Anyways it's a good project for the winter.

Next time you see me out filming autocross you just might find me under the Tein umbrella.

Model Kim Ji-hoo commits suicide

WHAT. THE. HELL.

Following the suicide of actor Ahn Jae-hwan last month, following the suicide of Choi Jin-shil (whose death was related to accusations regarding her friend Ahn’s suicide) earlier this month, following the suicide of transgender entertainer Jang Chae-won just a day later, we have, sadly, yet another suicide.

On October 8, news was released of the suicide of model Kim Ji-hoo on October 6. Not many other details have been released, other than a police officer’s statement that this was indeed suicide (and not foul play).

Only 23, Kim Ji-hoo was a fashion model and actor, appearing on the MBC drama Before & After Plastic Surgery, family sitcom The Unstoppable High Kick, and tvN’s cable reality program Coming Out, where he came out as gay.

His body, found on the 7th, is currently at the hospital, with funeral services planned for the 9th.

please NO MORE suicide. :(

Lee was not seriously injured and went to the police station directly afterward to give his report. The cause of the crash(es) is still being investigated by police.

Lee is currently appearing on the program 1 Night 2 Days, part of KBS2’s variety program Happy Sunday. First a broken finger, now a car accident. Keep safe, dude.

Macross Frontier

Awesome! Just replace every word in this post with awesome and that is how much I liked Macross Frontier. While Frontier is the first program in the Macross Universe that I have watched Macross has been around for years and Frontier actually marks the 25th Anniversary of Macross which is probably pretty historic for an anime franchise. You'll just have to check out the links for the entire history of the Macross Universe courtesy of Wiki because it would just take to long to explain the entire history of the show.

Thankfully Frontier doesn't need you to know any of that history in order to enjoy the Space Opera that unfolds before you. There is a lot of stuff going on with Frontier to keep track of and to discuss. I could probably write the longest review of my life on this show with everything that is going on. I'd love to but then no one would read it. So I'm going to keep it pretty short actually.
The first main focus of the show is of course on the Space Battle between the humans and the Vajra a species of insect like aliens that attack the human's deep space colony. The battles are epic and gorgeous. Some of the best CGI fighting that I've seen in a while. One interesting aspects of the space battles is that the aliens are influenced by singing. This is both a good thing and a bad thing.

The second focus of the show is on love and there is a lot going around on Frontier. The biggest spark is the love triangle between our unlikely hero Alto and the two song birds Ranka and Sheryl. The two song birds constantly fight for the affection of Alto and Alto looks like he doesn't even notice what is going on around him. The biggest debate over this show was of course who was Alto going to chose and while I don't think we are shown a clear answer to that I think that Alto definitely chose Sheryl as I really think he sees Ranka more as a lil' sister than a love interest or atleast that's what I took away from it. Maybe that's what the movie is going to be for.

Then you have everything else. The secret plot behind why they are fighting the aliens in the first place, who exactly Ranka is and why she can do what she does. The plot to take over the command of Frontier and oh my gosh there is still more. And it's all important, none of it is just fluff to add time to the show. Last but not least though is the Sound track for this show. Two words Yoko Kanno the composer who also did the Sound track for Cowboy and one of my favorite composers and is just an epic win when it comes to great music and Frontier is just full of great music.

Frontier was one of those shows that I always looked forward to watching and think it's the must buy no matter what anime of the season and that is saying alot in my opinion. Although I haven't heard any news at all about it getting licensed I think someone needs to get on the ball and get this here now. It might be able to even save stupid lame ass [Adult Swim] if they bothered to air this. In any case like I said at the beginning just replace every thing I've said with awesome and that's how good I thought this show was and I'm definitely looking forward to the movie and maybe a happy ending for Alto.

K-pop and J-pop singer Younha revealed on SBS show, “Do Jeon Chun Gok Han So Jeoul No Rae Bang” that she confessed to a man but was rejected.

In late August, Younha released her second Korean album, titled “Someday” and includes the hit single, “Telepathy” as well as “Memory”, her second collaboration with Tablo of Epik High. Younha rose to the limelight with “Houkiboshi”, the closing theme song for the popular anime, Bleach.

Another suicide is now just coming to light, having been overshadowed by the suicide last Thursday of famous actress Choi Jin-shil. This time the victim is transgender entertainer Jang Chae-won, 26, who passed away at home on October 3.

Seoul police gave a statement on October 6, saying, “Jang Chae-won was found dead at home by friends, who made the report. We’ll have to investigate further before determining more details about the incident, but as of this moment there are no suspicions of foul play.”

Perhaps the signs were there in advance; apparently Jang had started posting messages on her personal homepage last month that went, “Will the end of my life be a comedy or a tragedy?” “Life is really tiresome,” and “I wish everything would go the way I wanted.” However, notable is that her message on October 1 was different in tone: “Right now I’m so happy~”

However, her last message posted on October 3 read, “Mom, I’m sorry. I’ll do better next time.”

Jang Chae-won’s profile rose in 2004 when she appeared on SBS’s Truth Game television program as a man dressing as a woman, noted for being even prettier than many woman. Three years later, she took on a sex change operation and began to appear in the public eye once more.
