Foxy Friday -- Chisato Morishita

Hey look at that it's already Friday once again and that means it's time for another Foxy Friday feature. This week's Foxy Asian lady is none other than Chisato Morishita (森下千里) who is another one of those Foxy Asians who does it all minus the JAV work. I found a picture set of hers on oishii18 and started looking around for more of her.

I found out that like many other gravure idols she started out as a Race Queen (she worked for several companies and as a promo girl as well) and quickly found her way into gravure idol photoshoots and videos. From there she went main stream doing a bit of singing here and there finally moving onto commercial TV and films. I was surprised to learn that she was in Bleach: Memories of Nobody (couldn't find out who she voiced, most likely just an extra) but is probably more famous for her roles in Kamen Rider films and TV shows. She's been keeping busy shooting films and TV appearances since than.

I found some great photolinks that you can check out.

Jappydoll -- but I'm not entirely sure if any of the links still work anymore.

Black★Rock Shooter OVA

Well if you haven't been living under a rock for the past year or so then you will have undoubtedly heard about the Vocaloid universe and the many characters that reside in it. One of those characters Black★Rock Shooter (BRS) was created by huke, one of the present members of band Supercell, and found a fan following with the release of the first fan made music video created by Supercell. That fanbase and growing interest lead to the creation of a one off animated video that was just released this last weekend.

I watched the Black★Rock Shooter OVA this past Monday and have to say that I was really impressed with the OVA. While it's getting mixed reviews every where I just wanted to toss in my own 2 pennies on the matter. I missed the boat initially on all things Vocaloid and BRS but after following many of Danny Choo's posting on his blog it was hard to not be interested in the upcoming Anime movie that was gaining a huge interest and following. I even found my way to the original music video made by Supercell for BRS and I was hooked. Hooked so much that I even pre-ordered the Figma version of BRS when it was announced. I might even find my self pre-ordering the additional figma releases for the other characters in the BRS world.

With all that in mind I really did enjoy the split world with two stories in one story telling that took place in the anime. The "Other world" of BRS a violent Alice in Wonderland look with no dialogue just violence and music a true to the original look of the music video world. This world is part of the real world where we find the lives of a handful of High School girls experiencing life in a less violent way.

In the real world the story follows Mato a basketball loving young girl who becomes friends with Yomi a girl who catches Mato's attention. During their first year together they two become friends and share many memories together Mato joins the Basketball club and Yomi joins the Volleyball team. All is good in their happy little world. Until the second year when the friends are separated by ending up in different classes and another friend enters Mato's life leaving Yomi hurt and alone. Soon things begin to spiral out of control and the friendship is fractured and Yomi disappears.

All the while in the "Other world" the girl with the blue glowing eye (BRS) and the embodiment of Yomi (Dead Master) are engaged in a huge battle that is destroying Dead Master's castle. Back in the real world Mato is devastated that her friend is missing until she receives a blank text from Yomi. She runs out of her house to find Yomi. Making her way up to the lookout, that she shared with Yomi at the beginning of their friendship, she finds Yomi's blue star phone strap that Mato gave her. As Mato is clutching the phone strap close to her heart BRS appears before her with words of encouragement about finding and saving her friend.

In the "otherworld" the fight is coming to a close and Dead Master is about to fall to her death when BRS reaches out and grabs hold of her and holds her tight turning Dead Master back into Yomi. A flash forward finds the three friends walking away from school their lives returned to normal. Or is it.

I really did enjoy the OVA and don't understand some people's hate for it. The animation was fantastic. The story even though short was great and well done. What really sets this off though is the sound track, the OVA had a great score that went well with the story. What's even better about this whole thing is that it was available for free streamed live and will soon be available as a freebie in several August editions of Otaku Magazines of which all of them are sold out through pre-orders already. I'm sure there will be other ways to get the OVA as well and there isn't any need to wait for it to be licensed as the DVD included 7 different language subs. There is even an English site for the the anime as well.

Weekly Review

It's been a busy week/end around here and I've now only gotten some time to actually get around to doing my weekly review of the last week. While the week was pretty boring in it's self the weekend was a fun and very busy time what with Super Gt, F1 autocross and a few other car related stuff happening here and else were that I was busy the entire weekend watching automotive related stuff. And I loved it, well minus the nice burn on my left leg...OUCH!.

So like I said the week was pretty normal work eat sleep routine nothing to special there. I want to play with the new employee's jet black hair but what's new there. I was just looking forward to the weekend because round 5 of the Super GT was happening on Sunday along with next F1 party. I was getting ready for that and the next Autocross event that was also happening on Saturday afternoon evening.

It also turned out that there was a small car showing happening about three blocks from our house so I was going to check that out as well before the autocross event. I'll blog more about those on my car blog a bit later. Went to the car show than the autocross event. I wasn't planing to stay the entire time but I ended up doing just that anyway. When I got home and jumped in the shower I found out that I had actually burned my left calf pretty damn well while out at the autocross event. It was just that hot. I would have been better off in shorts and a crap ton of sunscreen. I didn't get sunburned though so I'm happy about that even though I did run out of sunscreen at the last couple hours of sunlight.

Sunday morning was filled with watching the latest Super GT videos and looking for all manner of info about the race including new Race Queen pictures. While doing this I was looking through my pictures from the car show and autocross event. Later in the evening it was off to a friend's house for the F1 party and even though I found out the result (thanks to a blurb on a Super GT thread) I kept my mouth shut and enjoyed the race with friends.

That pretty much ended the week of excitement after we got home and I passed out. During the week I did find some pretty cool videos including this one.

Marvel Anime Announcement

Been watching G4's Comic-con coverage and they just announced that the Marvel Anime shows that I've off and on blogged about are going to be on G4 in 2011. That's right Anime is coming back to G4 and while it's Marvel Comic Book characters that is still bad ass. Maybe they will bring some other anime along with them. One can hope anyways. All four announced anime titles will be on G4 in early 2011.

I've already blogged at length about the upcoming Ironman and Wolverine Anime series and in addition to those two there is also Blade and X-men anime series. The series will start with Ironman in the Spring of 2011 then followed by Wolverine while the other two will be released depending on Mad House's schedule.

There was no announcement about whether the anime series will be subtitled or dubbed. In related news on that front Ironman will make it's debut in Japan during October of 2010.

The best part of the announcement at Comic-con was the additional footage of Ironman which you can check out below:

Proving that Japanese pop groups can come in all different shapes and sizes, popular sexy gravia idol singing group Sexy☆All Stars released a new album titled “Sexy Koshien” on July 21st. The album splits the group into teams focusing on their various assets; Breast Kingdom, Yankee Breasts, Lovely Slender Leg Squadron, and Umore’s Cleavage Troops. All the rare songs of these units will be collected for the album.

The album also acted as the debut for the “Koshien Breast” members, which were given a baseball team theme. The members all took different positions on the baseball field; Teshima Yukata (pitcher), MAO (catcher), Houzyou Mami (first base), Miwa Nagaoka (second base), Sukegawa Marie (third base), Megumi Haruno (short stop), Sunouchi Asuka (left field), NAON (center field), Yuka Kuroda (right field), Mouri Yuki (sub player) for a grand total of ten positions.

To really hit the point home, the group boasts that their combined bust size is over 922cm.

The group has several songs from each unit on it such as “Koshien Breasts” and the “Breasts Rooter’s Song.” The release will also come with a DVD that includes videos of the 13 songs.

Although this isn’t a release that is likely to appeal to the mainstream, you have to give them credit for coming up with some creative names and hilarious concepts for their release.
